February 2024Peace and quiet
The home is well appointed and has an amazing view. The property manager was very helpful and accessible. Snorkeling was great! If you are a hiker or scuba diver this is the place for you. Or if you want a peaceful welcoming place where everyone knows everyone and you don’t lock doors, this is your place too. The pool is small but it serves the purpose. A very unique beautiful island!”

Our week began with an awesome landing on the World's Smallest Runway. Cloudbreak Villa was an amazing modern home (most up to date home on the island) with a beautiful view. Michael, SABA Island Properties, stocked our refrigerator prior to arrival and greeted us when we arrived. The home was immaculate, very comfortable and included all the creature comforts for a leisure vacation. Most days we prepared our breakfast and lunch. We also prepared numerous evening meals. Having a gas grill was awesome. On clear evenings, watching the stars from the house and upper decks was beautiful. They have an amazing water purification system. Since the household water is on a cistern, we were very careful with water usage and paper disposal. Walking to restaurants and into town was a short 7-10 minute hike (pay close attention to the drivers and take a flashlight for night walks into town). We rarely used a taxi for transfers. Garvin and Peddy were our taxi drivers and were awesome. We met many people on the island and they are very friendly and excited to share information about SABA. Being avid and experienced divers, we enjoyed the volcanic diving with Sea Saba, an amazing dive operation. We enjoyed a day at Queen's Gardens Resort: relaxing by the pool, lunch, massages, showers and then a delicious intimate dinner. Our favorite nearby restaurants were Brigadoon, Tropic's Cafe, and Chez Bubba. We also enjoyed meals at Long Haul and The Hideaway. The view from Scout's Place is amazing. The bakery is a must-friendly owner and staff. Fresh made breads and pastries are delicious. A visit to the Saba and Dutch Museums are a must. We wanted to visit Ecolodge but it is being renovated by the new owners. My husband and I live on an island in Coastal GA and consider ourselves flatlanders. We did enjoy some hiking, touring local churches, attending a worship service at the Wesleyan Church in the Bottom and enjoying a delicious hearty breakfast at Island Flavor. Taking a tour of the island with Peddy is a must. We made the mistake of saving the tour for our last day. Be sure to engage with the locals and other tourists on the island. We look forward to returning to Saba. If you need any information about SABA, feel free to reach out to us through Third Home.”
