June 2024Absolute Bliss
We traveled to Vidanta with 30+ friends and family for our vow renewal and it was beyond anything we expected. Our friends and family who stayed with us could not stop raving about our Residence unit, the property and all the amenities. We could’ve stayed a month and still not see everything. The spa was AMAZING! I booked spa for 10 of us ladies and it was by far the nicest spa we’ve ever been to. My husband played golf with the guys and the kids swam to their hearts content. As if the property was not beautiful enough, the people were even MORE spectacular. They became very familiar with our group and took care of anything we needed. My kids have not stopped asking if we can move to Mexico and live there. The only downside of our whole experience was the time share presentation at the end of our trip. They were extremely aggressive and it took a huge chunk of our time on our last day that we weren’t expecting. We’ve been to many presentations, we’ve owned time shares since 1999, but have NEVER dealt with that type of sales tactic. So bad that my husband has voiced that he doesn’t desire to go back, even as wonderful as everything else was. ”

This residence tower is still the best in Phase one of Nuevo Vallarta property for Vidanta. With only 36 condos for one 10 story tower, it has a personal community feel with a team of concierge and bellmen to provide quality service. The tower is showing some signs of age, primarily inside the actual condos. Not bad or enough to not visit, yet it would foster a more lively and fresh environment if they would redo some of the furniture, art, and flooring.”

October 2024Terrific Place
We enjoyed the visit. Just be aware that there will be a request to site through their sales pitch. We did and agreed to purchase some time, a large purchase and too much to make with little to no time review and think about the purchase, so there is some regret, but if we use the time and travel opportunites it may be worth it.. If you are only using the third home opportunity, hard to beat the opportunity.”

September 2024Beautiful Resort
We were there during an off-season week so much was not open. It was beautiful and we spent a lot of time in the spa and on the golf course! The accommodations look very similar to the picture on the listing we booked so I was thankful that it really was “as pictured”. Can’t wait to go back when the amusement park is in full swing!”

September 2024Warm attentive staff, we’ll maintained, no need to leave property
First time stay at Vidanta. Wow. The size and quality of the property, attention to detail, staff attentiveness, quality and variety of food and dining options were very, very good. You can get more, but you will pay much much more. The value was beyond our expectation. Go. Stay. You will return. ”

June 2024Sub par experience
I booked the Grand Luxx 4 bedroom villa specifically to utilize and enjoy the private pool experience for my family. It was my first time bringing mom who is older and less mobile and if the resort had given specific notifications that the private pool in the building was not available I would have requested to switch the dates so that my mother could have enjoyed the amenities more. I’m overall disappointed with the lack of communication and lack of respect for my family’s time. We spent a lot of money for flights to come out to Mexico for the private experience but yet we had to share the space with many others. Very disappointed with how Vidanta handles the situation. ”

September 2024Fantastic Property
We loved our stay at the Residences. This is our second stay on this property. The facilities and staff are amazing. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation at resort, we highly recommend this property. We did not have the opportunity to play the standard golf course, but did play the Par 3 course. It was blast. ”

May 2024Attention needed!
We stayed in one of these 4br units here at this resort a couple years back with friends and brought our family back. I have to say, it’s was a little worse for ware! The oven was broken the dishwasher was broken, and neither got repaired while I was there. Nor did we get moved to another unit. The floor was filthy and the room had a smell, like dirty mop water. They did send someone to scrub the floor and offered to have the housekeepers wash the dishes for us. We were just a little disappointed. ”

August 2024Great family trip
We were in a four bedroom, 4.5 bath suite. It had an incredible balcony with sofas and a dining table. Our concierge David was amazing, going above and beyond helping us. He set up a chef to come in and cook a meal. The chef, Tony was outstanding, and the margaritas he made enhanced the meal. The suite was extremely spacious, with each family having their own balcony space. The rooftop bar restaurant and pool were a favorite spot for us. We received 5 THIRDHOME keys for going through the timeshare presentation. Getting the keys and another vacation was worth the pain of going through their presentation for us. They were hardcore though. The only negative is that grocery shopping there is expensive and getting to Walmart or Costco takes a cab. We ordered on line and had it delivered. ”

July 2024Wonderful Stay
We enjoyed our stay at the Residences at Grand Luxxe Four Bedroom at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta. The service was amazing, rooms were nice and spacious, the property is very big and has everything on site. The only negative is the beach was brown and muggy from the river that runs into it. I was told it was the time of year, so maybe it's more clear other parts of the year. ”

July 2024Still Fabulous!
This was our second time to Vidanta. Vidanta does not disappoint and neither did this property. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The room was beautiful. All the things I expected. Everything from the view from the room to the inside, the restaurants, the trails, etc. I would stay here again next year if Vidanta hadn't put restrictions on Third Home users. If you have a chance to experience Vidanta, you should take it!”

July 2024Amazing Amazing
What you see in the pictures is what we got. Spacious, 4-bedroom, view of the river and ocean. Amazing customer service. Transportation through the 5 resorts available, restaurants of all kinds and easy meals at the swim up bar in the pools. Beach, gondola, golf, theme park (to open soon) we only stayed a week and only left the property to go to Walmart and stock up. We really didn't need a rental car. Taxi and the resort shuttle to and from the airport would have been enough. Can't wait to go back!”

July 2024The Resort is Massive.
The room itself was great for 4 adults and 4 kids - 4 spacious bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and a pool on the deck. The unit itself felt a bit dated but it still worked for our purposes. The staff at the Residences were all very nice and helpful (see note below however about the sales team). The kid pools were great for the little ones. The 2 downsides were: - the size of the resort was far too big for our tastes. We had to take the golf carts to get to most other parts of the resort. Being in the Residences is great because there are dedicated golf carts and you don't have to wait for a particular golf cart to pick you up when you are at other locations in the resort. - the sales team. We signed up to receive the time share presentation as we always find these interesting. The sales team started out very nice and pleasant, but as we got to the point of saying, 'no we are not interested' they started to get more and more aggressive as they passed us on to sales person after sales person trying to get us to say yes. What was supposed to be a 60 minute sales pitch turned into 90 minutes do to their hostile tactics and trying to make us stay longer to get the next 'pitch'. ”

June 2024Luxurious room, bad location
In short: great rooms, great service, nice grounds, bad location, timeshare sales pressure, inconvenient and severely overpriced. Check in is strictly after 5. We had a rental car, arrived at the valet parking where they took away our bags to be x-rayed and delivered to our room later separately. Then we waited for a shuttle to be transported to our tower for check in. We had a 4 bedroom at the Residence tower. At check in, be prepared for a push to attend a timeshare sales presentation and please say a firm NO if you want to enjoy your stay. For their credit, they did not pester us after the initial NO. Because we said NO to the timeshare sales presentation, they put us on the first floor, but still our 4 bedroom residence was gorgeous. An elevator that goes directly to the room - huge living room with a huge outdoor patio, 3 large bedrooms and another patio on the other side. Full kitchen with oven, but no bbq grills, not anywhere in the resort. As resort restaurants are extremely overpriced, we cooked our own meals for the family and the kitchen was very handy. Also a laundry room in the unit, I hear those are only in the 4 bedrooms, and perhaps some 3 bedrooms. The grounds are huge and very nicely landscaped. You need to wait for a shuttle to go anywhere, or walk a long distance. You are trapped in the resort, there is no walking to town. It's a long process to get into the rental car to drive anywhere. First you must request the car from the valet by phone or by filling a form online at least 30 minutes before going, then you must wait for a shuttle to be transported to the valet parking area, then you drive. There is one way to walk off the property - get a shuttle to the lazy river area close the beach, then walk a kilometer along the beach to the very end, and turn right into town - there are a couple of nice and reasonably priced restaurants there, or you can catch an Uber from there - Ubers are not allowed to pick up at the resort and their taxis are overpriced as everything. The beach in front of the resort is a disappointment. Because Ameca river flows into the ocean right at the resort, the water is brown and the sand is grey. There are fantastic beaches around Puerto Vallarta, but you have to drive to those. I would recommend beaches accessible from Boca de Tomatlán in the south, or around Sayulita in the north - those are paradise, don't get stuck at the resort. But after a day out exploring, it's a pleasure to retire to a luxury room at the resort. Cool dipping pool on the patio, or a luxurious hot tub in the master bathroom. There is daily housekeeping, plus nightly turn down service with chocolates and complimentary water bottles. They also offer an optional third daily housekeeping and dishwashing service in the mornings for a small additional weekly charge. There are some quirks in the room, as it is starting to show it's age, like some appliances not working properly, or some weather damage in the patio. But the room is still luxurious. Check out is strictly before 10, and they included two optional lines in the bill for donations, so watch out for those. Donations should be an opt in, not an opt out - if you spend anything at the resort, it's easy to miss those in the bill, as they don't mention those unless asked to explain the charges. It was our first time in this part of Mexico, and the resort was a great base, but we will not return to it next time we are in the area, and would probably book something on a great beach instead - less luxurious, but more authentic, accessible and reasonably priced.”

July 2024Big apartment, not so nice complex and super high prices
The apartment was very big and comfortable, we enjoyed it and some of the amenities at Vidanta, however you need to consider that the Vidanta Complex is huge and crowded, too many people for our taste and it was not high season. All the services, food & drinks they offer are really over priced. We will not return to Vidanta.”

June 2024Vidanta
Our four bedroom unit was quite "Luxxe"! Everyone's eyes got big when we walked into our unit directly from the elevator. There was plenty of room to spread out and our deck was enormous with the ocean in the distance. The staff, grounds, pools were all awesome. The place is huge and you get shuttled around to different locations within the resort on oversized golf carts. Food in the many restaurants was excellent and very $$$$. I prepaid for food so I wouldn't gag everytime they brought a menu. I only wish we had gone in the winter. I don't recommend June-July. It was very hot and extremely humid. Everyone got alot of bites (not sure if mosquito or something else). Otherwise I think the resort is pretty amazing.”

June 2024Grand Luxxe Stay
We have stayed at Vidanta a number of times. The 4 bedroom Grand Luxxe is a step above. The staff was excellent. A special thanks to Alian, Ian and Rafael. We took advantage of the adult pool. We love The restaurants Gong and the Cantina. My husband and I had a massage at Brio. Love Vidanta.”

June 2024Residence is beautiful and spacious
The accommodations are absolutely beautiful. We liked some of the quieter pools more then others. My 2 challenges are: finding chairs at the larger pools (Mayan pool with waterslide) as the sectioned off area for residence club members was incredibly hot and no one used it, and the restaurant situation. If you have not made a reservation somewhere, expect to order room service for dinner! If this happens, the pizza is actually fantastic! But for all of you non-planning-wing it types, this is not the way at Vidanta. Make sure to book your dinners with the concierge early. We also discovered that you can walk down the beach towards the marina (about 15 minute walk) and in the little marina tourist area there are a few more restaurants. We did not try them but will next time. Eddie's place and Barracuda. We also loved our ziplining excursion fir a break from the resort life.”

June 2024FANTASTIC
We took the family to stay at the Residences and they were stunned. This was an incredible stay. The service was exceptional, the deck was beautiful, and overall accommodations were just fantastic. One thing that was truly outstanding was the rooftop pool and hot tub. The view was outstanding and the service great. The Residences are big enough to fit 12 people comfortably. We would not hesitate to go back. If you plan to go to Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta, stay at the Residences, you will not be disappointed. Can't wait to go back. ”

June 2024Top noch.
This Residence apartment is huge, close to 6000 sqft. The views to the river and jungle can´t be beat. We visited 5 restaurants and all had great food at reasonable prices. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The Estates Spa is fantastic, but a bit expensive. The only option for improvement that I would suggest is the furnishing of the apartment. The fabrics look old and some are even stained. The wooden fools are not in the best of conditions. If not for these issues I would gladly give he Residences at Grand Luxxe Four Bedroom at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta 5*.”

May 2024nice stay ruined by salesman
Everything about this resort was wonderful. The employees were quick to serve and delightful. When we arrived at 3:00 PM our room was not ready. A lady asked us if we would please sign up for a lunch and presentation. "No pressure" she assured us. Well pressure there was, heated word and we walked out only to be chased and told the salesman would be fired........ DO NOT AGREE TO A "PRESENTATION". Otherwise a fine resort.”

June 2024Lovely Property
The Vidanta has all you need to stay on site. Our family enjoyed the numerous pools, dining & entertainment. The staff is always very accomodating. The Theme park are is not open as of our visit June 2024. It was unfortunate there was much construction going on, and our favorite rooftop pool was closed for a month.”

April 2024Amazing Room, Massive Property
The positives: -The room is phenomenal. It will be hard to find a better 4 bedroom stay across all of ThirdHome. The size and quality of the suite makes this a perfect trip for going with friends or family, I went with my wife and a group of friends. The negatives are: -The property is massive, bigger than you can imagine, so getting around is difficult. They have golf cart services but they are designated by building and it takes a long time for the residences golf cart to arrive, so we ended up walking most places -The service is okay - better than your average hotel but definitely less than what you could expect at a place like the Nobu or One&Only resorts in Mexico -You are not close to town - getting off the Vidanta property takes 20 minutes by itself I probably will not be back but I enjoyed my stay with friends!”

May 2024Wonderful Experience
Vidanta is a very large complex with consistently high service levels and thoughtful design and construction. Totally enjoyed our week in the Residences at Vidanta. ”

May 2024Very relaxing -- everything you need is on site!
The resort is huge, but easy to get around on via the golf cart shuttles. We golfed at the Greg Norman course which was amazing and on the Par 3 which was a lot of fun! We brought our own pickleball paddles and enjoyed those courts as well. The employees at the resort are fantastic! I'd recommend bringing small bills to tip your golf cart drivers along the way! Our weather was perfect, but we were told that it was unusually nice for the end of May. I would try to avoid their busiest season as I imagine it would be a lot more difficult to catch golf carts, find seating at the pools, and make dining reservations. There is a great little market on site for essential groceries-- they will even deliver for a few dollars which would be nice alternative to transporting heavy bottles of water. Our residence was on the 5th floor and the views were amazing! Most of the time that we spent at the house was spent enjoying the beautiful deck. The Vidanta app is a must for navigating all that the resort has to offer. We spent each day at a different pool and one day at the hut/cabanas on the beach. Our favorite places to eat: Puerto Manjar (fine dining), La Cantina (good value), and the taco cart at Beachland (quick eats). We did do the sales presentation which took us four hours in total (bfast with a salesperson/tour/sit down presentation/and a few rounds of salespeople trying one last time. Although, these are long and tedious- we did save 10% off of our food and beverage bill plus a discount on golf and pickleball, so I will reluctantly say it was worth it. :) We would definitely like to go back to Vidanta Grand Luxxe! ”

May 2024Luxurious residence and resort, better than expected in most regards
We have been to Puerto Vallarta many times but usually stay on the South Shore where is it more lush, authentic, and less congested. Vidanta is just north of PV and is a massive scale resort with accommodations for what seemed to be various budgets. The Residences are top of the food chain. I would avoid the Mayan side at all costs though as that seems more like a traditional mexican timeshare. The common areas and grounds at Vidanta are stunning, and at first we admittingly felt very overwhelmed and a bit like going to Disneyworld with having to get on a tram to get around. However, once we arrived at the Residence building, check in was actually very easy and quick, unlike what some seem to have experienced. We didn't find that they were pushy with a sales pitch for a presentation for their fractional or timeshare, but they are indirectly pushing this with making certain things like the spa ridiculously expensive to use. However, overall, the resort is very luxurious, and especially the Residences. We found it to be in very good condition, and immaculate. My only complaint would be that lighting was a bit too dim. But otherwise, it appears as you see in photos. Each day, the maids came and spent hours cleaning and mopping even though we hardly had anything to clean. The grounds throughout the resort are like this as well. Lots of trails to either walk around in or take a tram for parts. it took us about two days to get the lay of the land. Recommend taking tram to the Plaza and walking down towards the left and beach from there to get a better overview where things are. We did not spend any time at the actual beach which is vast, as oddly it did not have a breeze like the pool area did as they were a bit more elevated. Service overall throughout was also better than expected, although some staff is not as fluent in English as we might have experienced at other resorts in more central or south PV. The pool on the rooftop of the Residence building is very nice with great views, and also offers food, although closed a bit earlier than we liked. We also enjoyed the pool area closer to the beach, in front of building 1 of Grand Luxxe. There was also a nice pool area fronting the beach too where we had lunch one day. I would avoid the pool and restaurant areas near the Mayan Palace or Grand Mayan altogether, as that area had a different vibe and much more crowded. We made the mistake of going to Sambra for breakfast and were immediately approached by the hostess to buy a promotion. We found that a bit tacky. Plus, the place was a zoo. There is the centralized Plaza at the resort with an unbelievable upscale market (which we could also order from), shops, and restaurants with amazing views. We recommend the french take out place there for a nice breakfast or lunch with amazing views if you sit outside. Puerto Manjar as well as the rooftop restaurant in our building were also nice places for breakfast, if you did not want to cook. Kitchen was large and adequate but not a lot of pans to use. We had only one fry pan. We should mention one of the main features and reasons for us coming to Vidanta was actually to golf. The pro shop is actually in the Residence building so it made golfing very convenient and easy to get to, as you take a golf cart from there and over the river and bridge to the course. There is also a Par 3, 9 hole course you can play at night which looked fun but we ran out of time. We golfed on the course where the Mexico PGA tour is held. We also dined at most of the nicer restaurants at the resort and enjoyed them all- The Burger Customade where we sat outside with nice views (incredible gourmet burgers and steaks), loved Brezza for dinner which is over the at the Estates, and also returned for breakfast poolside. Very quiet and upscale. We ate twice at Puerto Manjar which also had beautiful ambiance and a sunset view and perhaps the best food and service at the resort. And we enjoyed Quinto which is a more hip restaurant on a rooftop with a great view of the general area both north and south. Every place had excellent food and service with the exception of Quinto's service being more average compared to top notch service we had at others. We ended up at the Sanctuario venue after dinner and a bit too late to enjoy most of the entertainment, so I think one needs to go earlier to see all the acts. During the stay, we used the fitness area was also great and large, but a bit of a distance, but we enjoyed the walks given the grounds are so lush. Unfortunately, we didn't get to experience the spa out of principle because we would have had to go on a promotion (presentation) in order to not have to pay over $300 for a spa treatment. They did not sell the presentation hard during our stay, but they sure make it difficult to truly enjoy the spa by making the prices outrageous without such. That would be our main complaint. I guess if you are willing to do the presentation, they offer Third Home members a very enticing 4 or 5 keys and $99 spa treatments, but we did not want to sacrifice a half day or more of our vacation just to get a reasonable spa treatment, etc. Other than this, it felt like a 5 star experience, and provided you are not on the Mayan side. To also note, we were able to go off the property and into downtown PV twice for dinner. It was not as complicated as we thought, but did take about 40 minutes for the entire process door to door. It thankfully only cost about $50 each way in a van that was able to accommodate up all 8 of us. So we would recommend doing that once or twice as there are many great restaurants in PV with a ton of ambiance (ie. Hacienda San Angel Gourmet, La Capella, and the Iguana for upscale dining, but also many others for more casual dinners). We also could enjoy art walk in downtown on Wed night. ”

Our stay in a four-bedroom suite at The Residences at Grand Luxxe at the Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta property was amazing. The room and resort were stunning, and the staff and amenities were top-notch. We had seven people in our party, and the room was very spacious, with more than enough space for everyone. Can't wait to go back! ”

May 2024Perfect vacation
Our stay at the Grand Luxxe residence was wonderful. The room was well appointed and just beautiful. It's one of the nicest places we have stayed. The staff is so helpful and nice. We had great food and enjoyed every day. Also the spa was worth it as well. ”

May 2024Very Nice Room & Resort
1st time there. The room and the resort are top notch. The sales presentation was a little overbearing, but the rest was wonderful. We had the 4 bedroom penthouse and it was wonderful. Highly recommend. ”

April 2024An Everything resort!
This place has it all! You truly never. Need to go off property! The staff is wonderful, the pools are amazing, the market (La Plaza) has everything you need for your kitchen! Prices are high for Mexico, but it's a beautiful place! Only 2 issues- small things are broke or don't work in room and around resort that need fixing! (The beer trailer taps have been broke since last October) little things in penthouse broken - kitchen faucet, outlets etc.. they come and fix but the should address these before you check in! This is a 5 star resort that only gets a 4.8 because of the little things! Presentation is darn right brutal! They offer Thirdhome members nice gifts but brutal! Eat before you go because the breakfast they offer is also brutal!”

April 2024Beautiful accomodations!
The 4-bedroom residence was spectacular! We were on the 8th floor and had an amazing view. The resort was great, with lots of dining and pool options. One of the best perks was the pool atop the residence building, for residence occupants only, which had a restaurant and amazing staff (thank you Luis). We golfed at both Lakes and Greg Norman courses, spa'd, pooled. The resort is so clean and everyone very friendly and helpful. Nice walking paths throughout. Many of the restaurants are expensive, and we had to wait in line when first arriving for an hour+, then got to the front and were told we didn't have to wait in the line (after asking numerous times). Some inconsistencies with questions, but no biggie. While the accommodation was a great deal with 3rd home exchange, our overall bill was quite large at the end of the week. But we had an amazing time. The mediterranean restaurant at The Estates was fantastic, as was the fish restaurant at the beach. Such lovely staff everywhere and would highly recommend this resort. No shortage of things to do here and you really don't even need to leave the property. ”

October 2023Amazed accommodations
A few years back it was over the top! It's time For some updates! Almost every light in the condo Was in need of repair! Decors are dated! The grounds are beautiful and the new additions will be beautiful, but they are spending nothing on current units. Very high pressure to purchase a property while visiting- stay away from the presentation!”

October 2023Grand Luxxe Nuevo Vallarta
Our stay was fantastic and the major reasons were the unbelievably helpful staff and the beauty of the property. The attentive nature of every Vidanta employee makes you feel at home from day one, and management should be so proud of their efforts.”

October 2023Home away from home
The facility has been slightly improved in its condition since we visited the year prior. The space is sizeable and the luxurious feel is evident, while still be comfortable. The fact that there are only 36 condos in the building make it cozy and like a community of travelers staying together. The private cart service and friendly staff make it like a big family with privileges.”

October 2023Third Home guests treated as second class citizens
I've never experienced such a terrible check-in anywhere in my entire life. The "special" check-in for Third Home members involves carrying your luggage down a long hallway to the back side of their convention center then waiting in a long line. Once we got to the front we supplied passport/credit card information - we had registered that in advance but the desk agent said it went "poof". But the worst part was the "welcome drink" person she sent us to next. When we refused to take the timeshare presentation, she said there was a problem with the shuttles and we'd have to wait at least 45 minutes to get a ride to our building. For backup, she asked the bell captain who was dispatching guests in carts if there was a problem with the shuttles. He immediately said "no problem" to which she said (in Spanish, assuming we wouldn't understand) that we needed to wait and suddenly there was a big problem with the shuttles. We ended up walking 15 minutes with our luggage to our building. Once we arrived we found out. 1) they had given us the wrong wristbands so we couldn't get in. 2) everyone staying in the residence tower can check-in at the tower EXCEPT Third Home guests, who have to walk to the convention center to check-in 3) the shuttle driver asked us later why we never called for a pickup, demonstrating that they had never called to ask for a shuttle for us. ”

September 2023One of the Best Vacations!
The vacation was amazing. It was so relaxing and I didn’t want to come home. I love that there were no cars on the premises. Golf carts were available to take us everywhere. There are about 59 restaurants in the premises so there is no need to leave the resort. There is a well stocked market and they delivered straight to our room. The staff was amazing. They would acknowledge us by name as we came and went from the Residence! I would definitely go back there!”

September 2023Top noch.
This is a huge 4 bdr. 4 1/2 bats, very well decorated, nice kitchen appliances. The view is fantastic, cleaning service every day is always a plus. The resort has many amenities and fine restaurants. Great place for kids. I give Vidanta a 5 star rating.”

July 2022The Lagoon tops the trip
The resort amenities are nice but photographed better than they are in person. The resort is still a work in process from a development standpoint and is missing some certain five star luxuries. The unit is quite sprawling with good views. The kitchen is very subpar from a quality and equipment standpoint. During my trip, I attempted to cook once, but gave up after that, given the lack of proper cooking utensils. The staff was very nice but often times slow to respond, or didn’t actually have a solution. The food on site was generally good, but nothing exceptional.”

July 2023Great family atmosphere at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta
There is something to do for everyone at Vidanta. Even though the theme park has not opened, there is plenty to do for the entire family. There are 2 18 hole golf courses and a 10 hole par 3 course--by far the nicest par 3 course I've ever stepped foot on. Also noteworthy is the PGA recently extended their contract for 10 years. The Residences offers a private rooftop pool--the perfect place to spend the afternoon or unwind after an excursion into town. I recommend hiring a cab driver for a day and drive up to Sayulita, Punta Mita and San Pancho to experience the beach towns that make this part of Mexico special. There are numerous food and bar options and there is also an onsite store that offers groceries and a nice selection of wines, beer and liquor. The rooms are spacious and designed to make you feel at home with a stocked kitchen and comfy beds. The living room is enormous with plenty of comfortable seating and beautiful views from the accordion glass door. My kids loved it:) The resort is safe and the on-site tram service was clutch.”

I was completely blown away of our four-bedroom residence suite from the moment the elevator doors opened. The property as a whole was extremely clean, and all of the employees were incredibly nice with all of the selections of food and pools. It felt like we were at a new resort each day. Looking forward to going back soon”

July 2023Do not recommend
Photos look nice, but this is not the reality. Air did not work our entire stay in 3 rooms. We did not have hot water for 4 days in our master. Beach was brown and dirty. Water was brown. LOTS of kids. Food was not good. Would not recommend. Service was good. There were 10 of us and no-one enjoyed it.”

July 2023Hortons- Fantastic Family Vacation
We had such a wonderful time at the Grand Luxxe Residence @ Vidanta. Great dinners, especially Bistro Bleu. The staff is exceptional and treated my family great. Marcos, Alain, Eduardo, Roberto, and of course Luiz at the roof top pool. Our concierges were so helpful with our reservations. Thank you Mari for our reservation at Mina’s. The entire team made it a special week for us. Vidanta is a special place regarding the beautiful landscape and grounds. The staff makes it so special and we cannot wait to return!!!”

July 2023Extraordinary Place to Stay in Puerto Vallarta
The Residences at Grand Luxxe is the top of the line product at Vidanta. It is a Five Diamond resort. Exquisite amenities and service. Unit is huge. There are many things to do at Vidanta. We took our three kids ages 13, 16 and 19, plus two cousins similar ages and they had a blast! My wife and I went out for dinner and saw a concert at the property. Jen McDonald at Third Home was very helpful with reservation arrangements.”

June 2023Gran hotel

September 2022Late review/We had a blast!
We stayed here Sept 2022 - during the earthquake! We were a bit shaken - but survived and no causalities - I’m aware of! However, the 4bd unit was outstanding - we hosted a couples retreat and hired a private chef - the property and location was wonderful - we ventured over to the lazy River and had a blast! We’re already booked to go back in 2024! ”

May 2023Golf Trip to VINDANTA NV for 8
The RESORT is outstanding and very complete, with a great golf course (Norman) and two additional options, many restaurants for every taste, several pools, a large beach, entertainment for all, beautiful grounds, a superb transportation system and splendid concierge services. There is also a nice Plaza where you can find food, beverages, clothing and more! We stayed in a beautiful Grand-Luxxe Residence 4-bedroom unit that is BIG, with square meters to spare and a very nice rooftop. The only negative is that the kitchen lacks good appliances and falls short on utensils, wine glasses and lighting. We visited Puerto Vallarta on a day trip that we enjoyed and Punta de Mita to play golf at Higuero GC which is a good course, but not worth the two-hour round-trip. There is construction work going on for new upcoming attractions like Cirque-Du-Soleil and playgrounds that we understand will be oriented towards families, so we are looking forward to come back with our tribe as soon as they open. Stay away from the sales speech and don´t fall for their offers, we were lucky to escape what promised to be a very stressful meeting. ”

Favorite resort and we love staying in the four bedroom Residence! We reserved four 4bedroom units for our entire family and had a wonderful time!! The highlights: The elevator opens to your room by using your programmed wrist band!! Roof top pool and restaurant just for this tower. The size of this unit is incredible! The floor to ceiling accordion doors that open to the balcony! The Grand Luxxe resort beyond this unit is so impressive with all of the restaurants, pools, landscaping, walkways, shuttle service, and the employees!! June 2021Very nice stay
Beautiful and huge! We loved being able to walk everywhere on the resort grounds and enjoyed many of the restaurants. Easy to get off property to take a cab to other beaches and restaurants. Only negatives were a bachelor party in the unit above us, very loud, and one room had an awful mildew smell. Place was so big we just closed that room off and didn't use it. We enjoyed the resort and would return”

Our stay in August was next level amazing. The service and our private butler was perfect….There so many fun things to do at Grand luxxe, I don’t see how anyone of any age could get bored…Our penthouse felt like 7,000 square feet!! And the beds were amazing. Got some of the best sleep while I was there for a week.. This was our second time here through Thirdhome and would most definitely stay here again.. thank you!”

I can't think of anything negative except the normal elevators were not working, so we had to use the service or employee elevator the whole week. October 2022Ultimate luxury in Mexico
As a frequent traveler to Mexico I especially love going to Vidanta in Nuevo Vallarta when I need a 'chill' week. The resort is so beautiful and well appointed one can spend the whole week there without even leaving the grounds. The pools are fantastic, restaurants terrific and the staff so friendly and helpful (thanks again Marco!) they make one feel right at home. And what a home! The Residences are simply as gorgeous as the pictures depict. So much room and elegance! I look forward to returning. ”

October 2022Absolutely beautiful resort! First class!
The Residence are so beautiful and roomy for 4 couples! Even riding out a Hurricane on day 2 we felt very safe and comfortable! The grounds are amazing and the Restuarant top notch! We enjoyed the rooftop pool at our place so much! Only negative of the trip is the dog and pony show the work so hard to get you to go through! It may be worth the discounts to say "no thank you ". But it consumes 4-5 hours of you day! We did get another keyless week for next year! Amazing place!”

October 2022Good Service and Nice Views
This particular building offers special benefits as compared to all others. One of the main blessings are the people working in and around this building. Tey have a guest focus and friendliness that exceeds most other places on this same property. The views of the property and ocean are good. The condition inside is showing wear and tear, yet overall you will likely love this location.”

July 2022Good Bad and the Ugly
GOOD_ Overall, Vidanta is an Adult Disney World...we stayed there twice in the past 3 months. The 2 BR and then the 4 BR Residences. I would have to say that the 4 BR was nothing short of amazing. The staff, the accommodations, the HUGE deck off of the room--all were great. We never had to wait more than 5 min for transportation bc the Residences have thier own. Room service pizza was surprisingly good. The grounds are incredible well manicured and they have an on site market which is great--expensive but you would expect that. The Italian restaurant is excellent BAD- The restaurants are very expensive. We went to the hamburger place and had 4 burgers, fries and 3 people had 1 cocktail , no desert and our tab was over $200 before TIP. Family Pools are super crowded and hard to find chairs which is typical for resorts..1st time we had to wait for over 30 minutes for airport transportation which was scheduled--however 2nd time was within 5 minutes. There are lots of walkable restaurants off property at Marina and they were delicious and super affordable. Many of them take VISA as well or US Dollars. UGLY--The time share pressure is Unbelievable..They will put you on the bottom floors unless you agree to go to presentation Now with this you do get a food discount card...but you decide if it is worth it to you. But be prepared they LIE the entire way through it..and be willing to give up about 3-4 hours. I even had one lady at the end say she was going to get my discount card and then I asked her about it and she then refused to give it to me and said someone else would. I told her at the beginning of the conversation thats what she said she was getting for me.. It was a constant , LIE about everything. I had the money but wouldnt buy from them due to their unprofessionalism. Also most everyone we spoke with there who had purchased a time share was sorry they had . More Concerning is last time we were there--we had to take a COVID test to renter back in the US--which is normal. Vidanta provides a doctor/clinic that does the test. You schedule with them and then they send you the test results within 4 hours. The charge for this was advertised as $25 and we all paid the $25 per person and I have my receipt showing this. What was interesting is after we got back home, My sister, my husband and I all received EOB --Explanation of Benefits / from our Insurance companies where the clinic charged each of our insurance companies over $300 for the COVID test and even more interesting is that NONE of us gave them our insurance cards or were informed about this....bc we paid the $25 to the clinic. My sister who loves in Virginia was billed from the clinic in Dallas however mine and my husbands insurance was billed from the same exact clinic/ Dr name but in Arizona location....TOTALLY FRAUDLENT IMO. None of us gave insurance info so they must have been able to look up our addresses/passport info. My brother in law works for the Government and he absolutley did not give his card either. All of us were billed $300+ each in US dollars. Pretty UNETHICAL if you ask me. All in all, for a free vacation, it was nice but I think everyone in our group both times had the same opinion. 1 and Done.”

July 2022Not our best experience
We really wanted to love this resort. We had a horrible experience checking in. It took our party almost 4 hours to be taken to the right tower. 3 towers and 3 different key bracelets later, our party of 20 was finally checked in. The concierge at our building was fantastic. Other than that, it seemed like a lot of staff around the resort did not know much about the resort. We were taken to different places on golf carts and we always had to wait for a specific one to get back to our building. We have stayed at Vidanta Riviera Maya before and we liked that resort and will be back to that one. This one is definitely not for us. We knew the resort was right next to the river but the water was so brown and we never even got into the ocean. Beautiful grounds. We also had issues with billing that they refused to rectify after our guests got sick.”

July 2022Vidante Residences nuevo vallarta
Had a great time Unique jungle setting gave great walking opportunities and the golf cart transportation system was very frequent and efficient. About 20 different pools gave many options for children adults and everybody Many restaurants to choose from but our favorites were the French, seafood, and steakhouse The little market in the center of the complex offered basics as well as a fresh bakery, meats, cheeses, pastries and more. Liked it enough to go back next year.”

June 2022Amazing in all ways!!!
Our stay at the Residences at Grand Luxxe Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta was a dream come true! The grounds are breathtaking and so well kept! Every place you went was superbly groomed and well attended. We appreciated the details of decorating even to having fresh plant leaves in vases in the pool bathrooms. Our four bedroom unit was luxurious and we felt like very special guests. We appreciated the detail in design and decorating even to the live plants on the patio. We found the lighting in the unit to be a little dark making reading a bit difficult. Other than that, the only other inconvenience about the unit itself was the refrigerator freezer, It was very difficult to open. Our entire stay for the week was delightful, we enjoyed visiting several of the pool and appreciated the convenience of food and drink and of course enjoyed participating in happy hour! The staff was so friendly and willing to help any way possible! We look forward to returning again to enjoy another week in paradise!”

June 2022Grand Luxxe
Positives: Excellent accommodations, maid service was super. Very nice environment. Negatives: shuttle service was horrible, always a long wait and we’d end up having to walk. Poor signage, we walked in circle for 45 mins trying to find the Tex Mex restaurant, NONE of the several employees we asked could help us. Pool for Grand Luxxe was closed for repairs, only the rooftop pool available. Too many children screaming and babies crying to make it enjoyable. Resort Fee per day in addition fee for weekly rental … what is that charge for? Had to pay a separate fee to park a car, pool closed, bad shuttle service, employees who can’t give directions or help visitors find places on site, restaurants very expensive as were the shops. Resort is in the middle of nowhere, we felt trapped, not our kind of place at all. Would not go back”

June 2022Gorgeous!
The Vidanta property is so beautiful and shockingly large. The service was top notch every step along the way. The 4 bedroom residence blew away our expectations, so big and luxurious. The Empire is amazing! The only issue is with the mosquitoes and the wait time for a cart to get home. Beyond that our stay was magnificent.”

May 2022How we spent our family vacation!
This is our favorite vacation spot! The Grand Luxxe Residence in Nuevo Vallarta has everything! We had 4-4 bedroom units for all of our kids and their families. The ten grandkids were so surprised to see the elevator opening into their own unit! The description and pictures do not come close to how awesome The Residence is! The week wasn’t long enough to visit all of the pools and restaurants, or to do all of the activities! We had breakfast/brunch at Plaza del Lago most mornings then hit the pools, activities, golf and spas! Lunches were spent at the different pools and dinners nightly at different restaurants. Our favorite restaurants are Gong with a Japanese chef cooking in front of you, Quinto steakhouse on top of building V with great views, Puerto Manjar for seafood dining on the beach at sunset, and the Burger Bar which has the best margaritas! Notable mention: The people that work at Grand Luxxe are extremely friendly and helpful! And! There is a par 3 lighted golf course to play after dinner! This was the best vacation ever!”

June 2022High quality location and stay
Nearly every aspect of the place was fantastic. Only slight complaint was the air conditioner in one of the master bedrooms was a bit warm. Very accommodating service folks, good quality food at the restaurants and well-maintained facilities. You didn't need to leave the resort on this vacation, except for some groceries for snacking.”

May 2022Perfect - Relaxing - Healing
It was amazing! The residence was great, furnishings are getting a bit worn, but overall good. I cannot say enough good about the staff and ALL of concierges at the Residences at Grand Luxxe, THEY truly made our stay PERFECT! They were very professional, helpful and friendly, we felt at home!! I will be back soon! ”

May 2022Vidanta Puerto Vallarta
I travel all over the world, and would rate Vidanta Vallarta close to the top. The property is huge, beautifully maintained, and the service was excellent . The only thing lacking was that the food quality was just a little above average. Did I mention it had great golf courses? I booked the 4 bedroom suite at The Residences, and it was truly fabulous with an awesome view.”

April 2022Beautiful!
It was so beautiful and spacious and luxurious. We loved the balcony where we could lay out, or read, and do a puzzle on the table. The bathrooms were very spacious, as was the kitchen. Service was excellent. Concierge people were very helpful. I can't think of anything to improve! So comfortable for all of us - 7 females. We had a great time and also enjoyed the pools, restaurants, beach, lazy river, and so on. Shuttles were so convenient too.”

April 2022Loving The Residences at the Grand Luxxe Vidanta
This property is 5 star luxury all the way. The resort is so vast that we were just starting to know it after a week. The 4 bedroom in The Residences is over the top. With over 6000 sq. ft. it was very spacious for the 5 of us. The covered balcony is massive and we spent most of our time out there watching the hundreds of birds feeding in the river. It is so cool to have an elevator open into the main room although some of the time when you push the button to go down, the door opened with other people in it. That was startling the first time. The staff is exemplary and go out of their ways to make your stay an enjoyable one. There are over 6000 employees who are all pleasant and all like working at Vidanta. During the height of the pandemic when the resort was closed for two months, all the staff were retained and feed two meals a day along with transportation. We did all our cooking and appreciated the on-site grocery store where you can buy everything you need from vegetables, cheese, charcuterie, assorted meats, fresh bread, pastries, wine, spirits, chocolates, candies, water, and diary. There is basic cooking equipment - pots and pans, dull knives, lots of large spoons, etc. Bring your own spices as the grocery store does not have a large assortment. I could not find thyme and oregano. There was a good assortment of glassware including wine glasses, flutes, goblets, high ball glasses, and tall glasses. Lots of dishes and a couple of large mixing/serving bowls that we did not find until we had been there 3 days. We tried several of the many pools on the property and each one was wonderful with pool side service including massages and two happy hours per day. The evening entertainment was first class although I would not go every night as the acts repeat themselves but we went three nights and enjoyed each one. We took in the fire celebration at sunset in front of La Plaza and it was great. There is no shortage of things to do. The Lazy River in front of the Grand Mayan was fun float on clear tubes followed by a water slide down a Mayan temple structure. The grounds are remarkable and it feels so tropical with the millions of plants including Royal Palm Trees, fig trees, and thick greenery everywhere. There are racoons, armadillos, iguanas, geckos, and lots of birds. The resort has its own transportation system with shuttle carts and even a gondola. Overall, Vidanta is the most luxurious place that we have ever visited and are looking forward to going back next year. ”

April 2022Almost Perfect
We had a wonderful stay at this property! To a person, every staff member who we interacted with was friendly, helpful and engaging. Pool drinks and food are quite good and reasonably priced. We had dinner at Gong, Quinto, The Cantina and several of the more casual restaurants. The food was excellent at all of them. We did not have issues with delayed check-in or aggressive tactics to entice us to attend the breakfast sales presentation. I told them upfront that I already owned two vacation properties and I did not want to add a third. When they continued to press, I just told them firmly that I had not seen some of my family members (who were traveling with us) since before COVID and that I was not going to waste one minute of my time with them in a sales presentation. That ended the sales tactics. This 4 bedroom unit is huge and the bedrooms are all quite large. The terrace is amazing and well furnished. The unit is showing its age though and several pieces of furniture had damaged upholstery. There were NO cushion covers on the large sofa in the living area - just the cushions with no upholstery. The kitchen is large and functional (we did not cook though!), but the refrigerator does not have an ice maker, nor does it have ice trays to make ice. Every time that you want ice, it's necessary to call down to the concierge desk and have ice brought to you. Despite those oddities, we had a wonderful time and would return again.”

June 2021Massive units
We had two 4 bedroom units. This is the tower you want to be in. Private elevators, staff etc. I will say, it’s some kind of crazy hot even in May and I am use to heat. There are pools everywhere to cool you off. It’s a little on the difficult side for the elderly as my parents were there and it’s just a huge property to navigate. Most all transportation is by shuttle or golf cart. I never saw all the pools or the entire property and I got out everyday and went somewhere new. We hope to return in cooler weather. ”

October 2021Gorgeous resort!
Gorgeous suite! The resort was beautiful and the staff was friendly and attentive. I would definitely go back! Also, I had an opportunity to speak with the wife of a higher-up employee and learned that, during covid, no one lost their job. Everyone was given to opportunity to continue working, though it may have been in a different role as guest attendance was very low. The owner also provides transportation to all employees to/from work and 2 meals/day. Citizens of Mexico do not have a lot of the “government-assisted” programs that a lot of other countries offer. He did not have the luxury of transportation to work and his family often didn’t have enough food to eat. I think this alone is a great reason to visit in addition to the beautiful & luxurious resort. You can tell that employees value the awesome opportunity to work in such an environment! :-)”

September 2021Beautiful location, great staff, stay away from the timeshare gauntlet
We enjoyed our stay immensely at this location. The room was large for our family, with epic views across the river delta. The place was very clean and had a lot to do. The biggest downside of the stay was we kinda got suckered in to a timeshare pitch when we were told it was part of the stay (they definitely made us feel we HAD to do it because we were a Thirdhome guest). Because of the hard sales pitch we did feel a large amount of distrust right off the bat and it took an entire day away from our trip. Also the check in takes about 3-4 hours regardless of when you arrive. Make sure to pack your swimsuit in your carry-on so you can start enjoying the pools while you wait for your room and luggage. This stay is definitely a massive resort-so if you aren't a resort person, this IS NOT the place for you. Leaving the complex is time consuming, though easier after a few tries. The resort has everything you need from groceries to COVID testing, running tracks, 29 pools and a beach area. (though the bay water isn't as swim friendly as we had hoped). You could easily spend your entire trip on the campus. (Though there is so much to see in PV-so we recommend getting out and about in town too!) ”

September 2021An Outstanding Vacation
Second visit here in 3 months. Great place for couples or families. Although a large property quiet places can be found. We stayed in the 2 bedroom loft as well as the 4 bedroom Residences. The rooms are beautiful and balconies superb. Also great restaurants. Lobster at Punta Manjar. Most noticeable is the staff. Every single staff person at every level is warm, professional, friendly and helpful. If you do go we definitely recommend IGUANA Restaurant in town. Look it up on the web. The most beautiful and romantic restaurant. ”

This entire complex is beautiful, beyond words. The property has everything you want and need to have a fabulous vacation. The unit is so spacious and well appointed. The housekeeping service is spot on!!!!! One word of advice.....do not get caught up at the airport. There are many companies there that offer to take to the resort. Go outside and find the ride to Vidanta. The pools are amazing and nightly entertainment was wonderful! Can't wait to go again !”

September 2021We Stayed a Second Week
We loved everything Vidanta had to offer so much we stayed for a second week ... and we will be back. The setting, accommodations, and service were top-notch. Yes, this resort is huge, however, you are never more than a 20-minute walk to any of the restaurants, bars, or pools - of which there are many. There are beautifully maintained wooden walkways throughout the property or shuttle services to take you anywhere you want to go. We rarely waited for a shuttle because most of the time we enjoyed the walk to and from our destinations. Also, there always seemed to be a shuttle available at the Grand Luxxe entrance to take us to the valet service (note: to avoid waiting, call the valet service 30 minutes before you want to drive off). The Grand Luxxe has a wonderful rooftop pool including a bar. As September is the rainiest season in Puerto Vallarta, we were entertained by rather intense thunder and lightning storms most nights. Beautiful days and stormy nights. We Loved it. A very challenging and fun par-three golf course that is appropriately called The Lakes because 8 of the 10 holes are over water. Bring extra balls. Highly recommended!!!!”

September 2021Wow, Just Wow
This place is amazing and exactly as pictured. There are four large bedrooms (two masters), a huge living room, dining table for 8 and an incredible balcony area with its own dipping pool. We spent a great deal of time outside on the balcony reading or just enjoying the view. We utilized the chef service (3 days) and the grocery service that are available and both were without a problem. The chef service really was fantastic (and affordable!) and the food was great. Our chef always made plenty of food so we had enough for brunch/lunch the next day as well. We went to three different restaurants on the property (French, Asian, and hamburger place) and the food was good with pricing about what you would expect for a resort restaurant. They have two workout facilities a short distance away that are more than adequately equipped to get a good cardio and/or strength training workout done. There are walking paths to every location on site that are well lit but the signage could use some improvement. We primarily utilized the rooftop pool (small, quiet, great view and great bar service) but there are many, many different pools you can visit on property. There is also a large beach area with chairs and umbrellas if you want to get near the ocean. There is entertainment nightly at the large pavilion and several bar staff so it was never a long wait to get a drink while you watched the different bands. Unfortunately two of the three golf courses were closed while we were there (flooding) but I found several courses in the area that were open. Transportation around the resort is really easy via the private shuttle you get as part of staying here. Getting to outside golf courses was also quite easy as taxis are always available. I think the thing that stood out the most for us was the cleanliness of the grounds and how friendly all the staff were. The service really was outstanding. Most of the staff spoke English so language was never a barrier. This is definitely somewhere we would return over and over.”

September 2021Mexico is our new Hawaii!
WE LOVE VIDANTA! Prior to crazy Covid travel restrictions we spent a lot of quality family time in Hawaii and Europe, but not anymore! We discovered how much easier it is to fly to Puerto Vallarta. SNA nonstop to PVR on Southwest was so easy. Our four bedroom villa was absolutely wonderful. September is definitely the rainy season, but we didn’t mind it at all. There were several days of some sunshine so we booked tours to Zipline and San Sebastien. Our private elevator into our residence was very convenient, as was taking it up to our rooftop pool and outdoor dining. I don’t think we missed one happy hour! Ww spent hours on the lazy river and in the wave pool. The kiddy pool was incredible. The view from our 5800sf residence was breathtaking, especially at night during the thunder storms. I totally recommend a trip to San Sebastien, we brought back 8 bags of delicious organic grown coffee beans, high octane! The zipline was THE BEST IN THE WORLD, 16 ziplines and delicious lunch. Vidanta is our new home away from home. PS, when you arrive at airport make sure you go OUTSIDE to the parking lot to meet your complimentary Vidanta driver. Inside the airport people try to fool you into thinking they are with Vidanta, do not believe them, go OUTSIDE to the left. Have a GREAT TIME! ”

This is a huge resort and has everything you can imagine: Great restaurants, huge pools, full gym, great beach, nice golf and super fun par three. The staff is super helpful and golf carts take you anywhere you want to go. Advice to guests: Make dinner reservations asap, prepare for a LONG check in process as they push time share very hard initially(3 hours for us), book adventures directly with tour companies and order groceries ahead. ”

August 2021STAY AWAY!!!
Horrible stay. I don't understand how this "resort" is a part of THIRDHOME. They target you as soon as your arrive, asking you for your occupations and "mandating" a sales presentation. Once they realize you aren't buying into their rundown "residences" they kick you to the curb. They don't keep their promises on making your stay better or at a minimum try to place you in a "mold-free" unit. It was by far our worst "vacation" ever. I don't recommend VIDANTA at all. Mediocre-expensive food on top of that. ”

August 2021Mexico Paradise
If you wish to travel to Mexico - look no further than Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta Grand Luxxe Residences. The 4-bedroom accommodation was perfect for our group of 9. Positive aspects to this resort is the complimentary transportation to the resort from PVR and the transportation via golf-carts throughout the resort. Access to a intimate roof-top pool and two Jacuzzis was also appreciate. Prior to getting to the resort, I highly advise pre-pay your expenses to get the additional 20% credit and to consult the concierge on specials/coupons for golf. If you attend the time-share meeting, you can get an additional set of coupons and 10% off your entire spend. However, be aware that you will spend 3/4 a day to do this "1 hour meeting". ”

July 2021Summer Getaway
Let me start out by saying that the room/residence was very nice and spacious. It was as shown and very well appointed. The grounds are also very nice and well manicured. However, the resort was WAY too big and crowded. Also, check in is not until 5PM, which we were originally told 4PM, and it was still not available until 5:30PM. Check out is at 10AM, which is very early as well. The resort was also very pushy about the breakfast sales presentation, which we begrudgingly agreed to and the sales person showed up 30 minutes late so we had left. It shows many food/restaurant options, but they are actually pretty limited. Many restaurants shown are pool bar/restaurants and all have the same menus. There are only a couple nicer restaurants for dinner and they are difficult to get into due to the size and amount of people at the resort. The food quality was average at best. The beach is basically unusable because there is a big river of fresh water flowing into the ocean on the resort grounds, so the the water is brackish. The town of Peurto Vallarta was very clean, safe and nice. It also has several nice restaurants which we frequented quite often due to the poor selections on the resort. ”

June 2021Dirty Disneyland
Pros - grounds, architecture, landscaping all beautiful. Largest room we have ever stayed in. Coffee delivered to room every morning. Beautiful ocean/river view. Cons - peeling wallpaper, floors trashed in our unit, eaten alive by mosquitoes, watered down drinks, ‘average’ food, pools dirty and disgusting and two were closed due to some sort of poop or vomit incident, crowded, too many people, waiting forever for shuttles, beach was gross… not to our standards, sorry. ”

June 2021Fabulous
We loved our stay at The Residences at Grand Luxe. The rooms and living area are enormous. The elevator opens up directly to your room and the pool area upstairs. You are the King of Vidanta staying at the Residences. Private shuttle transports, and a private beach club and pool area reserved for The Residences guests which I found the last day of the trip. It was HOT,. We went the first of June. I guess I should have known but was still shocked at the heat. I definitely plan to go back around January. Loved the resort. 5 star all the way. Beautifully decorated and the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. It’s a huge resort. Go for a long walk the first day to get familiar with the property. There is no one who shows you around or really tells you anything. You are definitely on your own to figure it out. Felt very safe the entire time. Had 15 family members in two units and everyone was begging for me to take them back!!! Thank you Third Home for another fabulous trip!!”

June 2021Four and half stars!
BEAUTIFUL!! The Residences are an exceptional property for those that know and appreciate luxury vacation experiences. It was beautifully appointed, daily cleaning, and everyone is very hospitable. This building is one of several on property, so the description is taking liberty with that (e.g. one plunge pool en suite, with roof top pool access, etc). Vidanta is known amongst locals as the "Golden Cage" and we did feel that. It is incredible, but isolated. You must build in at least 20 minutes to get anywhere on property or to reach a taxi to get off, since it is only accessed by shuttles, or walking paths that meander throughout (read: nothing is direct from point A to B). As beautiful as every detail and building is, this did make our week there feel "trapped" at times, so plan for excursions, if you know you like to see the local sights. Also, we were nowhere near capacity, and wait times for restaurants, shuttles, etc. were excessive at times, so keep that in mind. We took 1/2 star off for the wifi (only allows access for 3 devices, or purchase a plan for additional users). Being a luxury property, this seemed dated to us; their bandwidth should be able to handle multiple users and for a family of 5 traveling, it was problematic. The other strong criticism of the Vidanta experience is that they required photocopies of all our passports, including our young children, and we were told we could request them back "after 3 years." In this day and age, with rampant identity theft, we found this inexcusable. We were able to convince management to return the children's copies, but they refused to return ours "as part of their policy" without any assurance of how or where paper copies (not even electronic/scanned?!?) were stored. This may be one area that Thirdhome could mediate with them; we probably would not return to a Vidanta property for this concern alone.”

May 2021Wow! We never wanted to leave our deck
The Residences at Grand Luxxe is first class all the way. The layout of the unit was incredible with a huge great room with sliding glass doors that open al the way to the expansive deck. The decor was so fresh and modern. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen well stocked. When we could tear ourselves from our unit, we would take the elevator to the private roof-top pool, go for a swim, order a margarita and take a siesta in a cabana. The resort is huge. Perhaps the largest we have been to. There is so much to see and do. We couldn't make it to all the restaurants within the week. We will be returning! ”
Toni B.
June 2021WOW! The room at the Vidanta Residences is truly an experience.
The Residence room is beautiful, spacious and in the best wing of the hotel. While there were a few issues in the room- the worst was a rancid smell coming from the bathroom which was resolved in a few days by maintenance - the dedicated concierge staff truly make your stay special. The service not only in the Residences but throughout the entire resort is best in class. In reading some of the other reviews prior to our trip and now I wanted to share a few tips with members to help make your stay more enjoyable. First, I was one of the few unlucky ones to get sucked into the presentation. After 1.5hrs waiting to check in with constant pressure to 1) attend the presentation for ONLY 1hr and 2) after the presentation we would get a VIP card offering A TON of discounts during our stay and 10% off our total bill, we agreed. BIG MISTAKE. We actually thought we may be interested in a "membership" but after 4 hours of nagging, 6 different people pushing a "final discounted offer" (note it went from $215K to $189 monthly ) and shuttling us to different holding rooms with no exits for another offer to be extended we essentially told them we were absolutely done and had to get back to our kids. DON'T fall for the presentation - it is NOT a requirement for Thirdhome members and will take forever. Also, check your bill before you exit. There are miscellaneous charges added and our "credit hold" at check-in was never removed. I would like to end on a positive note - the resort is clean and offers a ton of options for pools and restaurants. You don't really need to leave if that is your type of vacation. While it can take time to get from one place to another - you get your steps in and the beauty around the resort is worth seeing and exploring on foot. I appreciate the work Thirdhome has put into making this resort available to members and am hopeful other members go in knowing a bit more from this review on what to expect. ”

June 2021Luxury Accommodation
What an amazing vacation. The resort and our hotel were wonderful and the staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful. Staying in The Residences, the best hotel on the resort, we were treated like VIPs with special shuttles just for our hotel. The resort itself is huge, with lush walkways connecting the various hotels, restaurants and pools. We had great meals out every evening and the service was excellent. I'd particularly recommend the French restaurant on site. The only downside is that because it is such a huge resort, it can feel like too much of an effort to leave and see the town and some "real" Mexican culture. Entertainment was laid on every night with live music and performances that can be enjoyed by the whole family. One other minor negative is that the rooms needed a little TLC - the wooden flooring needed to be redone - the humidity had deteriorated the flooring a little but this did not impact our enjoyment of the stunning space. The balcony area, in particular, with the plunge pool was fabulous and the pool area on the roof was luxury personified. ”

June 2021Amazing Vacation Resort!
The resort is beautiful. The room looks exactly like the pictures. The amenities offered at the resort are endless. However, the concierges in the Residence are not well versed in making people feel at home, extending their services, offering to assist or go above and beyond. They get by with the least amount of work.....however the shuttle service associates are amazing! They are kind, offer the extras where the concierge lack. Concierge service in the Residence needs to be reviewed- otherwise one of the top 3 vacations we have taken and we travel the world.”

June 2021Fun in the sun!
We had a great time! The accommodation was amazing and the staff throughout Vindanta work really hard to provide a clean resort and friendly helpful customer service. The only issue we had was the check-in process was long and took two different steps which lasted 1.5 hours. Rooms aren't ready till 5 PM. There's a lot to do, check out Eddie's Place, a short walk down the beach to the pier area, old downtown Puerto Vallarta and the many resort pools and places to eat. It's a busy place, an urban beach experience, perfect for families given the lazy river, wave pools (for small kids), slide. ”

May 2021Stunning!
We spent a week at The Residence at Grand Luxxe in Late May 2021 (during COVID). Our four-bedroom condo was located on the fourth floor and had spectacular views of the resort, river, ocean, mountains, and city (Puerto Vallarta)! The entire resort is incredible and very clean, most definitely deserving of its five-star rating. The service was excellent, and the staff members were eager to accommodate all guest needs. The best thing about The Residence for us was the elevator that took us right to our condo. We could easily get to our room, change, and take the same elevator up to the pool on the roof. Due to Covid, some of the restaurants were not open. We were able to get a wide variety of options via Room Service and the prices were reasonable. When we stayed at Riviera Maya a few months earlier they had everything open. Comparing the two resorts, we preferred the Riviera Maya due to the seclusion and the gentle Caribbean, but they were both spectacular. The Nuevo Vallarta resort is larger and closer to the city with associated cultural and shopping activities. Puerto Vallarta is a $13 cab ride, Nuevo Vallarta is $6 and your nearest grocery is $5. We would strongly recommend either resort. ”

Wonderful experience and absolutely one of the nicest accommodations to date. The Residences at Grand Luxxe has that WOW factor soon as you enter from your private elevator. The staff was outstanding and so much to do on property. ”

May 20215 Stars are not enough to rate this beautiful place.
Extraordinary is not enough a word to describe this beautiful place. The residence is huge, well decorated, and with wonderful views from its terrace and bedrooms. Kitchen appliances and tableware in great condition. What we enjoyed the most was the roof terrace pool. concierge service with courtesy coffee and refreshing drinks was also a plus. 5 stars + ”

May 2021Grand Experience
Of course the room and resort are both gorgeous. However, what really set this trip apart was the service of the concierges. Nothing was unattainable for them regardless of the time of day or night. It really made our experience that much more special.”

The building and unit are extraordinary, exactly like the photo. All 4 bedroom apartments in The Residences are exactly the same decor. 2and 3 bedroom units are in a different building. The staff is extremely Courteous and helpful. The Residences has a pool, and snack bar on the roof. It’s the only building with Ia pool just for the building. ”

April 2021"Ladies Week" trip a 5 Diamond experience for all!
I brought my four girlfriends to Vidanta for a "ladies week" and we all had an amazing time! Each day brought something that "amazed" my friends. The staff was so accommodating and made sure that we had everything we needed and more! I highly recommend this location/resort! ”

April 2021Over Whelming Resort
Let me start with the staff was all wonderful and friendly. They do their best to please you. The rating is based on the unit condition and size of the resort. This is a MEGA resort. As we were there a fwy sign saying Vidanta World was going up. The resort is huge. I can't over state this. They use a shuttle service which can take some time to use. We chose to walk as we didn't mind the exercise. Its a 30 min walk to the beach. Walking is often quicker than the shuttle. The beach is long and wide, but not very pretty and the sand is super hot to walk on unless your at the ocean edge. The pools are all nice and the resort clean. You are a bit of a captive audience. If you want to golf or eat off property plan on 45-60 min to get where you want to go. We golfed one day at a course showing an 8 min drive, it took 50 min. You have to take a shuttle to the transportation location and then get a taxi. They do have plenty of taxis, it just takes time to get everywhere. We did have several good meals on property and felt the pricing was fair. The unit it self needs maintenance. Our first unit had no view and there is construction off the back side. There was stains on the furniture, the dish washer didn't work nor did the cooktop fan. We were moved to the 8th floor with a much better view, but still had issues. Patio furniture is stained, torn pillows and rusted frames. The refrigerator dripped water and the dish washer had broken racks. Lost water one full morning due to a broken pipe and AC had issues, which did get repaired. If you want to cook in you must provide all items needed including dish washer detergent. My guess is guests are using body wash which is why the dish washers are not holding up. They do respond to service issue, but don't seem to be able to fix. Furniture is showing wear. The resort feel very manufactured, like Disneyland. Not bad if that is what you are looking for. We were just wanting a feel of being in Mexico, not different "lands" within the resort. We love travel so it was an experience and found joy in being there, but would not return. Information for our fellow Thirdhome travelers ”

April 2021Best Vacation EVER!!!
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, this was far and away the most relaxing vacation I've ever been on. The Residence experience is second to none. Spectacular. Over-the-top luxury, amazing service, first class amenities, beautiful landscaping and grounds, fabulous views, and wonderful restaurants. The Residence units are so nice, and with the rooftop lounge/pool exclusive to only Residence guests, I didn't really care to leave the building. There is nothing negative I can say about my stay. I've already booked my next trip back in two months. I sincerely see myself visiting Vidanta Puerto Vallarta several times each year.”

February 2021Phenomenal
Outstanding stay at the Residences. Large and well appointed home with an outstanding deck. We also found the rooftop pool and snack bar/drinks to be a game changer with the kids, since we could easily zip up and down the elevator back to the condo. Can’t wait to come back”

January 2021OMG!!
I loved this place! The resort is huge, but meticulously maintained and beautiful. The 4 bedroom residence is unbelievable. The main living space is so large, perfect for entertaining or just enjoying time in the unit. Actually, the unit was so nice, I didn't really want to go anywhere but forced myself because the resort is also incredible. The rooms are large, and the room appointments are very nice and comfortable. The balcony is amazing and the views are unbelievable. I recommend exploring the whole resort, which is one giant unit behind the gate, by foot. There are great wood path trails all throughout the property with great signage for directions. I loved this place and will be back for sure!”

Excellent vacation. COVID protocol was very good and we felt safe. Resort staff are excellent in safety protocols. The "guests" are the issue and concerns as they ignore safe COVID protocols. ”

January 2021Huge wow factor
The unit is spectacular and we really enjoyed the indoor/outdoor living. Bedding/linens and service were all five stars. Make sure Vidanta is the right property for you. It can be complicated to get around. It’s an enormous property. You have to take long walks or shuttles everywhere. We were couples so it was not a problem but I would think it could be challenging with young kids. I might stay in a building closer to the kids pool area if you do. The spa was up there with the best I’ve even been. Luxury everything. Restaurants were good but you can find better ones off property. Only that means waiting 30 minutes and shuttles to the car valet. ”

December 2020Class A Resort - well run, high service, attention to details
We had the pleasure of enjoying time at Vidanta - it was really a great experience. In fact, it as so good that we are going back for another 2 weeks very soon with friends and family. The accomodations were very nice - not to metion the 30+ pools to choose from. The only thing negative - is to be careful not to get pulled into a hard sell timeshare pitch unless you really want this. This happened to us unexpectedly - and that left a bad taste. But the sales side of Vidanta is seperate from the resort operation (which is wonderful, Class A). We had a great time!!! And what isn't to like about Puerto Vallarta.”

December 2020Fabulous resort
This property is over the top with luxury, service and amenities. Everything you would want is available from kids to adults there is something for everyone. Extremely clean, two maid services each day. The residence is a different experience. We have stayed here twice and has been a delight every trip. Definitely will be returning. ”

December 2020Great option, some negatives
The positives: The place is just beautifull. The units very well appointed and the service and the people are great. A very unique place. Tennis, golf, food is good. The loft is very nice and the terrace is big and comfortable. The negatives: We were given a unit that looks to the golf course and they have bright lights turned on until 11pm. The main bar has music on until late at night. It is a large resort and the idea is that guests stay at the resort mostly. To get your car is a 40 minute process. We went outside everyday since we wanted to get to know the area and surf. So it takes a lot of your time.”

November 2020Luxury Vacation
The Residences at Grand Luxxe did not disappoint! Excellent Service- Fabulous views- incredible restaurants-fun pools-clean beach with soft sand. This unit has all the space you need. The spacious 4-bedroom unit gave our group plenty of room to spread out and relax. We were able to eat meals together at the enormous table, relax in the living room or outside on the spacious patio. The bedrooms were wonderfully comfortable, spacious and luxurious. All for bedrooms had their own large bathrooms. The also each had access to one of the 2 spacious patios. The rooftop pool is wonderful. The water temperature was perfect! (It was heated while we were the in late November/early December). Great drinks and amazing food. With access to nearly everything at Grand Luxxe, Grand Bliss and Grand Mayan, there were more than enough activities to keep us busy and entertain all. The nightly entertainment was amazing. My favorite drink was the Blackberry Mojito at Grand Luxxe Tower 4 pool bar. The food at Taco Break in La Plaza was great, and they make an amazing Spicy Margarita! We love this place so much, that we booked 3 rooms for next year (June 2021) to come back with our friends and family! ”

November 2020Nice resort ; friendly staff; units need repairs
The property was running on reduced capacity and therefore some restaurants and golf were not available. The units are showing wear and tear. The exclusive benefits of staying in this building are well worthwhile and the staff are quite friendly and helpful.”

October 2020Vidanta is Awesome!
This was our family's second time to Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta and we have already booked our third visit for next year. The resort is amazing, the decor is stunning and the service is wonderful. We took my in-laws last time and they loved it so much they bought their own membership. Our kids loved the Joy Squad and we all enjoyed the awesome meals, endless pools and fun ocean waves. We are counting down the days until we return!”

October 2020Great trip to Mexico
The residence was beautifull, service was very efficient. The view and grounds are exceptional. All in all a fantastic trip. Felt very clean and hygienic and safe. The live entertainment was available Thursday - Sunday . There were several pools we could access. Coffee was served every morning in our residence. The housekeeping came twice a day . Definitely will be going back.”

October 2020We Are Going Back in December!
My husband and I could not have been more impressed with the resort and its wonderful staff in our week at Vidanta. We had concerns about our trip to Mexico during this time but the commitment the resort showed to ensuring that our surroundings were safe was five star. Staff were always in protective wear like masks and shields and golf carts - the primary mode of transport on the property - were always wiped down before we boarded. I finally asked while at dinner one night "What is that bell we keep hearing every half hour or so?" Answer: "Time for staff to sanitize their hands, Senora." Our experience at the Vidanta Residences in the fall instilled in us the confidence that we're now bringing our children back at Christmas. ”

October 2020Luxury in the Jungle
Beautiful property undergoing a major improvement project. A few of the restaurants were closed but the service more then made up for it. The penthouse was amazing and we spend lots of time on the balcony & in the plunge pool. If your not interested in buying a timeshare I recommend you do not take the "tour"”

September 2020Great Accommodations - Horrible Sales Presentation
The 4-bedroom residence is simply amazing. If not for the horrible sales presentation, I would visit again in a heartbeat. The accommodations were welcoming and impressive on every front. The service was good, the personnel & staff were very nice, and the food/drinks were delicious. I would only stay at the Residences because the exclusive perks were good. I withheld 2 stars from what should be a 5-star rating because of this poor sales presentation experience alone. Our only hesitancy for considering a return is the sales presentation was ridiculous, time consuming, disrespectful and the absolute worst we have ever experienced. We literally talked with 7 people before they pointed to the back door and sent us on our way. We were bewildered because we said over and over again, that we had only been there less than 24 hours and wanted to regroup with them in 48 hours after we had a chance to even catch our breath and they refused to accommodate us. At that point, we just considered it an insult that they refused to hear our ask and we still talked with 4 more people. The pitch went from $350K down to $2,400. For us, that did not matter because they chose to disregard what we were suggesting or asking for. What was even worse was the failure to end with dignity. Every hand off to the next person ended with the prior person being dismissive and upset - like we owed them. We simply asked for time and even said to them "No" comes swiftly and we aren't saying no - we just wanted more time to at least experience the place as we hadn't even been there 24 hours, we hadn't greeted our guests that were arriving and we hadn't settle in a bit. They weaved us through so many twists and turns in the building that we lost our bearings and honestly didn't' know how to even just get out of the place to walk out. And in the end, after person number 7 made their plea, he pointed to the back door for us to exit. And we still had to find our way. I thought this is the rudest I have ever been treated by anyone wanting me spend money. They could offer the place for $1 and I'd still say not. Customer service, listening to the customer, and realizing that there is always a possibility for a yes later was completely missed by that team. Then we learned the measly gifts they offered – which we didn’t even ask for anything, were not even given to us or applied to our account. And then they had the audacity to contact us after the 48 hours we suggested to comeback in to discuss the deal which was the very thing we kept asking to happen throughout the 6 hours they relentlessly tied us up. You have got to be kidding. Mind blown. I see why people complain about sales presentations. . While the accommodations would absolutely draw me back over & over- if the sales presentation is mandatory, I would never go back nor would I want anyone I know to even experience that - not even my worse enemy.”

July 2020Service was lacking
On the positive side, the room was absolutely gorgeous. Incredible finishes and beautiful layout. Upon arrival it took at least an hour to even get someone to acknowledge I was even there and get us into our place. Then finally when about to go to the room, the timeshare salesperson jumped in and wouldn’t let us go and pushed extremely hard for a presentation we didn’t want to see. During the stay the service was very difficult, ordering wine/food to the room was near impossible. One time it took 2-3 hours and five phone calls before I had to leave the room and go to the market to get the items myself. It was an ordeal. Upon leaving, the staff knew what my flight time was, and they assured me our bags would be at the taxis at the time we needed it there, then they lost the bags, for quite some time, and we nearly missed our flight. While the property has lots of potential, the service was not there. ”

July 2020Good and Bad!
The 4 bedroom residence and the Residence Building Pool are very nice. The service throughout the resort was very poor so we ended up simply staying in the residence building. It took us over 3 hours to check in, it was complicated to get food, usually taking more than an hour and a half and transportation between areas was very limited. On the second day we decided to go out and buy everything we needed to cook for the rest of the week. ”

July 2020Frustrating stay following COVID reopening!
I preface this review in the time of COVID & all of the associated issues, and the fact that I have been to this property in the past & certainly would give it 5+ stars during those stays. The Residence condo is out of this world beautiful, without exception one of the best on earth!! The unit we stayed in had lighting problems in the kitchen, and plumbing fixture issues in the master bathroom. There were few people in the building during the week we were there, so it was a very unique experience in that regard. Prior to arrival, I received zero information from the resort regarding what restaurants, swimming pools, and entertainment venues would be open (they were closed for 2 months for COVID). To summarize, there was a limited dining option (my 3 favorite restaurants were closed, Quinto Steakhouse & pool on rooftop of Cinco, the Cantina & Punta Arena on the beach (gone!)...and no entertainment in the Santuario outdoor pavillion. I would not have made the trip had I known any of this prior to leaving. To top it off, I ended up in a FIVE hours "owner's update" that became ridiculous, and pretty much ruined a full day of my vacation, which shows how little respect the company has for their members. Construction is currently underway at the resort, including a gondola ride & complete beachfront remodel for a new beach club, so if you want to go anywhere, you take the golf carts & walk via many detours. The biggest problem was with the cart service, the single key component is the dispatchers at each pickup point, who either were missing completely or sporadic in their positions - so no radio communications for pickups, etc. Other guests were furious (we experienced two families in a verbal fight with many four-lettered words), which was understandable, but not appropriate for young children in the group. I will return to this resort when everything is complete, but not until then - so ask a lot of questions before you book!”

December 2019Beautiful place - inside and out!
The 4-bedroom unit was very well done and the resort itself beautifully done landscape-wise. They obviously spent a lot of money. Also, the people who work there are incredibly nice, helpful. Only reason for 4 vs 5 stars is once leaving our building it seemed pretty tourist-y. The experience of all the golf carts, restaurants, and crowds felt like Disneyland which in my opinion is not a relaxing vacation-desired atmosphere. So that's the trade-off, the resort is a small city with everything you need, but that also brings the feel of crowds.”

October 2019SPACIOUS AND COMFORTABLE...
We stayed for a week at the residences and had a great time! There are 5 towers and then there are the "residences" which are the superior units at the resort...bigger, nicer, etc. So, you feel kinda special...you have your own shuttle and when you say "residences" the staff perks up a bit. Our unit was very similar to the pictures except we had a smaller round pool instead of the long rectangle pool showed in the listing. The resort is very lush and feels very upscale for the most part. The unit is not stocked with any sort of spices or laundry detergent and the cookware is pretty sparse...dull knives, etc. so take that into consideration if you plan on cooking. There are lots of restaurants so it may not be that important to most. The staff is nice but the resort is very about "rules" so for instance, I called room service to ask if I can have a salt/pepper shaker brought up and they flat out refused. I even offered to pay and they wouldn't accommodate me which was super annoying. I ended up having to "borrow" one from the restaurant. There is only one tiny spa in the resort and they only let 10 people in a time and you can only use the hot tub for 1 hour prior to your appointment...and not after! And those are the only hot tubs in the whole resort! There was a tepidly warm pool on the roof top but no actual hot tubs :-( They could also use some nightlife. There is no nightclub or place to dance in the resort. They have a DJ in the La Cantina but it's just a restaurant / bar and there's sports blaring on the tv. The Santuario is really for old people which the place is mainly full of....99% guests over 70+ snow birds from Canada. Our group and one other seemed to be the only young lively people around but we made the best of it and still had fun. Overall, Vidanta does not compare to the Four Seasons which is over the top great...but it's very nice. ”
