December 2022No better place to be between the holidays
The St. Regis is a calm and classy oasis amid the New York hustle and bustle. Between the holidays is our favourite time to be in NYC and the trip would be worth it just to spend a night in those beds. Unbeatably comfortable. A veritable stone's throw from 5th Ave and a couple of blocks from Central Park makes the location difficult to beat too. Such a great spot”

December 2022Magical NYE/post Christmas Trip
Our stay at the St. Regis for New Year’s Eve and post Christmas was magical. The hotel was decorated beautifully and the apartment was spacious by NYC standards. The staff was lovely and helpful, especially with our two small children. There was coffee/tea service and newspaper every morning and milk and cookies the first night. The first few afternoons, they also had hot chocolate, candy canes and peppermint bark in the lobby. It was the perfect location to do all the NYC Christmas things, but post Christmas so we didn’t have to deal with the crowds. We saw all the holiday windows and decorations, went to the Bryant Park Christmas market, went to the Museum of Natural History, saw the Rockettes, visited the Bronx Zoo, went ice skating under the tree at Rockefeller Center, played Eloise and had afternoon tea at the Plaza Hotel, saw The Lion King on Broadway and the highlight of the trip - took the VIP Toy Soldier Tour and opened FAO Schwarz to the public. It was one for the books! Thank you St. Regis and ThirdHome!”

December 2022Great Family Vacation
Spent a week with my family in a huge 2 bedroom suite. The suite was impeccable and the location is the best in NYC for a vacation during the Holidays. Only negative is their lobby bar, the "King Cole". We spent 7 nights at the St Regis and could never get in the bar. There was a minimum 30 minute stand in line wait every single day and no reservations nor preferences for hotel guests. Other than that the stay was amazing.”

August 2021Nice stay in NYC
Nice stay at the St Regis Hotel. We have stayed in this hotel before and we did expect the stay to be in an hotel residence apartment and not a hotel suite. When we arrived we were put in a attached 1BR suite with another bedroom attached. It was a little tight for 5 people. It did not look like the photos on thirdhome, though that is what the residence apartments apparently are. The hotel did try to accommodate us and move us to larger Suite with an attached room. We only stayed 2 nights as it was not what we expected. Despite the room issue the hotel is amazing and great place to have a base while visiting NYC.”

April 2013What A Dame!
The Grande Dame of the New York hotel scene, the St Regis Hotel can still keep pace with some of its racier, younger, possibly even sexier competition in Manhattan. Situated a couple of blocks south of Central Park in Midtown you are under no illusion about the St Regis' sublime pedigree from the abundance of fresh, white lilies adorning the gold and marble French Beaux Arts style reception area. This hotel was, after all, built by Jacob Astor in 1904 and you can just imagine the well-heeled, turn-of-the-century clientele swanning through the glamorous vestibule on their way to take tea, no doubt to orchestral accompaniment, in the lounge. Today though, this hotel hits a different note, somewhere between golden age comfort and modern day convenience. It may not be the best (whatever that means), the chicest, the most cutting edge but it is sure in the right place and the service is as exceptionally highly polished as the hotel's brass name plate. Only the faintest of clues need be given to the likeable gents at the concierge desk as to what you might fancy for lunch and your wish is their command. Our clue was 'lobster' and, before a list of suitable opportunities had finished cascading from Robert's mouth like a deck of cards being squirted through the fingers of a magician's hand, we were off in a cab, completely confident in our choice. Ed's Lobster - utterly fabulous! For this trip, we were treating another couple who, in turn, were treating us to some time on their Oyster 72 in the Caribbean. So, it was with some, as it turned out unnecessary, toe-curling reticence that we peered round the door into the room as our friends serged forward behind us to check that they hadn't come off worse on the deal. What a pleasant surprise! We were given a two room layout which perfectly sandwiched a shared living room space. Lemons and creams (somehow not at all like a cheesecake) adorn the rooms giving a light and relaxed feel and the ceilings are wonderfully high. The bathrooms are very roomy too with both a bath and a shower with sufficient acreage to hold a decent wet and wild party. Probably harking back to the old days when they really knew how to do things. There's one thing about visiting a big city though, that is common to all. Darned right exhaustion sets in at some stage, usually before days end. Yes, it's all very well getting up jet-lagged and wired to consume at 4.30 am but by lunchtime the shine wears off a little. By late afternoon, all the bullish talk of how many martinis one was going to get amongst that evening wanes as the call for a little downtime screams louder than your feet can scream back, 'Decompression'! It is this time, the downtime, when the St Regis comes quite rightfully into its own. So quiet, so calm, so elegant so, well, wisely experienced in looking after its guests. Ahhhh... ”

October 2012The Pinnacle of Service in NYC
In a town that prides itself on stellar customer service, The St. Regis really sets the standard in the hotel and residence club sector. We had a very busy week in town and nothing was ever too much trouble for any of the staff. What the St. Regis does brilliantly is provide the highest level of service without you having to see anybody. But, if you need something, someone is on-hand immediately. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in anywhere in the world - so comfortable in fact that it negated any hint of jet lag. Their unique personal Butler service was a real treat too - just leave your scuffed, New York pavement worn shoes outside before 11pm and by the time you wake up, they have been beautifully restored to their former glory complete with shoe-trees and in a cotton pouch. If you ever get the chance to experience the St. Regis, it will be the stay that you judge all future trips against.”
