Description

Sky Haven Lodge

Experience the best that the great outdoors has to offer in Townsend, TN! Nicknamed "The Peaceful Side of the Smokies," Townsend is one of three "front doors" to the 520,000-acre Great Smoky Mountains National Park in eastern Tennessee. Nearby, its mountain town neighbor, Gatlinburg, draws handfuls of visitors annually with adrenaline-pumping attractions, many of which offer sweeping views of the national park, including the 407 foot tall Space Needle observation tower. Meanwhile, the Gatlinburg SkyLift takes visitors on a 2.1-mile aerial journey to the top of Crockett Mountain for scenic views of the Smokies. After you hop off the lift, walk across the Gatlinburg SkyBridge—the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in North America—standing 140 feet above the forest floor and stretching 680 feet across with 30 feet of glass panels that look down into the forest.

Nestled among the foothills of the Smokies, Sky Haven Lodge is a 2740 square foot mountain abode overlooking Laurel Valley with breathtaking views of the Smokies. Sky Haven Lodge features three floors, each with its own bedroom, bathroom, and deck. Front-door keyless entry welcomes you into the main floor living room, which flaunts a rustic cabin style interior with cedar paneling. A stone fireplace, flatscreen TV, and Western cowhide rug surround comfortable seating creating a cozy place to settle into. Expansive windows highlight the main floor deck, where you have a front-row view of the Chimney Tops with Mount LeConte in the distance. Back inside, a formal dining table provides a peaceful place for eight to gather, while a spacious kitchen comes equipped with top-of-the-line appliances. The lodge's signature natural elements continue into the main floor bedroom, which features a plush pillow-top king bed and an expansive en-suite bathroom with both a walk-in shower and a jetted tub.

Downstairs, the lower level offers guests plenty of space to sleep with a warm and welcoming den that features a queen sleeper sofa and a bedroom with a king bed and closet, as well as a full bathroom. Here, guests can enjoy a billiard area with a full-size pool table, a laundry room, and a kid's "adventure area" with books, toys, and games galore! The lower level also has a wrap-around deck on three sides with hanging chairs to swing in as you breathe in the fresh mountain air.

The third level loft offers two queen-size log beds with high-quality mattresses and linens, a desk and internet connection for remote work, and a full bathroom with a shower. Walk out onto your private balcony from the loft bedroom for the best view, or sit for a while and take in the sweeping spruce–fir forest from the upper-level loft observation area with a telescope for stargazing. As far as bonus amenities, passes to the Laurel Valley pool and fitness center are included with your stay at Sky Haven lodge.

Just around the corner are numerous outdoor adventures for the entire family, including hiking, rock-climbing, tubing, kayaking, fishing, and more! If you'd prefer to take it easy, there are several scenic drives nearby, and beautiful Townsend with its local shops, crafts, and restaurants is less than eight minutes away. Take a guided tour to explore the caves of Tuckaleechee Cavern, or take a quick trip to Dolly Parton's famous Appalachian-themed amusement park, Dollywood!

Loved it!

Beautiful views and plenty of space for our crew! Great owners with a wonderfully detailed welcome packet. Great location to access hiking, or the sites on Gaitlinburg. ”
