August 2022A Wonderful Week in Wimberly
I reserved the two houses of Lookout Ridge Retreat in Wimberly Texas in August 2022 for a family vacation. Although we all live about an hour’s drive from the small but charming town, it was far enough to feel “away from it all” yet close enough for those with jobs to come for a long weekend. The two houses were perfect for the 11-8/9 people in all and our favorite hangout was of course the pool, but the awesome game room was a close second, especially with the night owls. The houses were extremely functional and Robin had thought of everything - from spices and condiments in the extremely well equipped kitchen to extra pillows, linens, and tissues in the bedrooms nd bathrooms. All we had to add were groceries. That was an easy task because the small but charming town of Wimberly was at the bottom of the hill and offered many choices of cafes and restaurants as well as grocery stores, boutiques, antique stores, and other intriguing shops. A glass blowing factory is the site of an interesting and informative demonstration and amazing glass products. The river provides several lovely natural swimming holes which were closed during our stay due to heavy rains just prior to our arrival so we were especially grateful for our own private swimming pool in the August heat. The serene location at the top of the ridge was well maintained and picturesque and was enjoyed by many visiting deer as well as by us and we all agreed we’d love to return for another Wonderful Week in Wimberly at the Lookout Lodge Retreat. Many thanks to Robin and Mitch for a fabulous family vacation. Laurie Golding”
