Designed and built by Architecture icon Agustín Hernández Navarro in the early 1970’s, this Modernist Mexican Home is truly a unique property and a work of art itself. The residence was completely restored with great attention to detail sourcing original materials and returning the structure to its original floorplan. With furnishings that are modernist vintage pieces, also lovingly restored, the building connects philosophy with architecture.

Fusing elements from Mexico’s Pre-Columbian past in the contemporary architecture, guests will enjoy the work of the architect whose rigorous and expressive force is said to have inspired a few movies, and is featured in Total Recall. Using geometric lines and forms, the circles, triangles, squares, rectangles of the interiors reflect the dualities that are part of life.

Located in a lovely and secure residential area of Bosque de las Lomas, centrally located to the main sights and business districts, the Home has been designed to combine simplicity with tidiness in the walls and restful vistas of the surrounding hills. Modernist Mexican Home is proud to deliver an exceptional and bespoke experience for every guest during their stay, with staff that lives on site on the lower level and provides friendly hospitality and daily cleaning. On this lower level, independent staff and catering personnel quarters include a second kitchen.

This Modernist Home has been built to the highest standards, and as you enter the property
there is a spacious open plan living area with sliding doors leading to the private terrace with spectacular panoramic views. The great living and dining room, library, the contemporary kitchen, and the breakfast room open to delightful covered porches, perfect for dining alfresco with an unmatched sense of serene privacy. Guests will be delighted to choose a book in the lovely library and to access the mezzanine or the back terrace to read it while enjoying the magnificent surrounding landscape. Please note that the railings on the back garden/terrace are not suitable for the youngest guests.

Ascending up the double-height staircase, which creates different notions of space and an inherent breadth that extends toward the large living area and the exterior, guests will find the 3 ensuite bedrooms. The master suite features a king-size bed, a private sitting area, a walk-in closet, and a His and Hers bathroom. Also, on this floor both the second and the third bedrooms boast their own Queen-size beds, a sitting area with desk, walk-in closet, and a bathroom. Upon request, the adjacent TV room, which shares its bathroom with the third bedroom, can be converted into a small bedroom, whether guests prefer that a twin bed is added to any of the bedrooms instead of the desk.

On this floor, the balcony (not suitable for the youngest guests) connects all 3 bedrooms through sliding doors. At Modernist Mexican Home, the layout creates an integrated environment with gardens that wrap around the living spaces and a designated basement-level parking area with space for up to 4 cars that guests can easily access with the control remote electric gate. With 3 bedrooms and 5 and a half bathrooms, the property can comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests that will also be entertained during their stay when heading to the weight/gym room!

Within the neighborhood’s well-designed setting, guests will find gardened boulevards, a number of restaurants, and will be able to enjoy some shopping at The Arcos Bosques, a impressive and modern shopping building that houses upscale designer stores and boutiques, but not within walking distance. For convenience there is a commercial area between Bosques de Ciruelos y Bosques de Duranzos where there are several mini malls (like Parques Duraznos) with restaurants, drugstore, supermarket, shopping and multi-cinemas, and this is 2 blocks away from the house.

With green spaces, nice residential buildings, as well as galleries, shops and restaurants, Polanco is the most cosmopolitan neighborhood in the city. After a tasting and elegant lunch paying tribute to Mexico’s rich culinary history at Pujol restaurant, history lovers will enjoy to explore the myriad of museums and art galleries in Polanco. Make your way to the Museum of Antropology, one of the most important museums in the world, and visit other galleries of contemporary art, such as the Modern Art Museum, the Tamayo Museum, the Jumex Museum, and the Soumaya Museum.

Guests wishing to discover the fashionable Colonia Condesa and the colourful Colonia Roma will be enchanted by the designers boutiques, avenues, great restaurants and art galleries that you can find there. These most famous and popular areas in the city are also great places to walk an enjoy beautiful parks.

Guests seeking some architectural tour may love a bike ride tour to the nearby neighboring Lomas de Chapultepec colonia, where a number of ancient homes and structures built in the Colonial Californiano style are located. Featuring stone carvings, pitched roofs, and large windows, most of these buildings are deemed as a cultural patrimony and protected by the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes.

Vibrant and multifaceted, the capital of the Mexican Republic also has a significant number of UNESCO World Heritage sites including ancient ruins, natural reserves, as well as a number of works of modern public and private architecture. Stroll through its historic downtown, discover its imposing Cathedral and the Templo Mayor, which still preserves vestiges of what was once the great Aztec empire.
