Description

This stunning Umbrian is a true dream house. Totally renovated, combining all the modern needs, together with the original 17th-century details. Conveniently located at just a few minutes from some of the most beautiful Umbrian villages.
This property offers a tranquil stylish retreat and gateway opportunity to explore the Italian countryside!

The oldest part of the house dates from 1665. These big Umbrian walls keep the house cool in the summer and warm during wintertime. The property, with its large windows and terraces all around, has a splendid 180 degrees view over the valley with its distant Sibillini mountaintops.

The infinity pool overlooking the valley and the beautiful garden are serene and inviting. You can always choose to relax in the shadow during the warm long summer or enjoy the sun.
In the outside wall facing the valley, there is an original working pizza oven. You’re welcome to make your own pizzas there.

In the near surroundings, you’ll find the typical beautiful Umbrian villages and cities like Todi, Orvieto, Assisi, and Perugia.

Roman history is all around you. If you are a medieval or renaissance art lover you’re in the right spot. Every trip offers you the calming green landscape with vineyards, olive yards, and sunflowers. Wine and olive oil tasting is a lovely activity to do in the famous vineyards of Montefalco, only half an hour drive through the stunning landscape. On every hilltop is a medieval village to visit!

The churches are full of fresco’s, Spoleto’s Duomo is especially worthwhile.

The local Umbrian cuisine is simple, pure, and superb! You can try, but we gave up competing with the local nonna’s making their lovely pasta’s, meat and vegetable dishes. Always fresh from their own land, always handmade.

The great position: located two hours from Florence, two hours from Rome, one and half hours from the Adriatic coast (Ancona) one hour from the Tuscan city Cortona (Famous for the movie "Under the Tuscan sun” and Dardano’s Chianina steak!), one hour from Lake Trasimeno, one and half hour from Siena (Tuscany). It is the perfect spot to discover the heart of Italy!

Beautiful Umbrian Hilltop House

We had a fabulous family reunion at this lovingly restored house. The property manager Guido did a fantastic job, by preparing the home for us and supplying us with the coordinates; there was no street address per se, but thanks to Google Maps it was relatively easy to find. Guido continued to help us throughout our stay by making reservations for restaurant meals and local wine tastings. The pallazone was beautifully appointed. We prepared numerous family dinners in the modern kitchen, and enjoyed the large BBQ on the patio. The bedrooms and baths were great, but one of best features of the property was the swimming pool! Everyone loved it. The water temperature was perfect, and the view of the Umbrian countryside was unsurpassed. We made several day trips to places like Assisi, Perugia and Todi. It was great to get to know a previously unexplored part of beautiful Italy. Bravo!”

Overdelivered!

Our group had a fantastic stay at this fabulous house -- the pictures & description don't do it justice. Location felt more remote at arrival than it turned out to be for our daily excursions and it was a genuine retreat to return to at the end of every outing. Guido was extremely responsive before & throughout our stay despite being down & out from COVID -- Mille Grazie!”

Beautiful Setting

Had a wonderful stay at Podere, greeted by Guido on our arrival who was amazing and so helpful in making our plan for the week. The homes beautifully appointed with several lovely spots to take in the magnificent views. You will definitely be doing some driving if you want to take in all that Umbria has to offer but it’s well worth it !! ”
