Description

Classic 1900's Rocky Mountain Retreat

Our house was built circa 1909 with the original name Cobblehurst. It was the first homestead built in the area and is now known as No Name and is positioned to maximize the spectacular views of Glenwood Canyon. The location is ideal: a three-minute drive into downtown Glenwood Springs, an hour to Aspen and Beaver Creek, and minutes to world-class fly-fishing, rafting, and zip lining!

It is one of the first-ever Craftsman Houses built in Colorado and retains many original features, including a river rock porch, a rock fireplace, and paneled ceilings. The setting is stunning in the middle of the Colorado Rockies but only a three-minute drive into downtown Glenwood Springs which has many restaurants, shops, and activities, including the world-famous Colorado Hot Springs.

After a long day in the mountains, curl up in the living room with a hot cup of cocoa and enjoy the warmth from the fireplace. Or gather outdoors and make memories by the fire pit. When you aren't exploring one of the many fine restaurants in town, whip up a feast in the fully equipped charming kitchen featuring stainless steel appliances and an eat-in-bar for two.

The spectacular master suite features a queen bed, a steam room, a sauna, and a step machine. Two guest rooms have queen beds, and the fourth room has two double beds.

Sitting on 1.5 acres, you have a private forest with a large fenced area for dogs. There are multiple walks/biking trails from the house, including No Name Creek/Jesse Weaver Trail, Colorado Riverwalk, and Glenwood Springs trail. We are also very close to Hanging Lake, one of Colorado's most amazing scenic areas. World-class fly fishing is at your doorstep along with white water rafting and zip lining. Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park is just minutes away. It is America's only mountain top theme park and an amazing place to visit with great thrill rides for the whole family.

This beautiful property is less than an hour from from Aspen and Beaver creek. The closest skiing is even closer (<30 minutes) at Sunlight Mountain, which is an excellent option for family skiing at a fraction of the price of the larger resorts.

Real west experience

I can't speak highly enough about this property or the host. The property is exactly what you would expect for a home built one hundred years ago. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised with a nice bottle of Chianti and chocolates. The home was comfortably decorated for a relaxing week of hiking , skiing ,dining ,swimming and even a day trip to Aspen to take in the Colorado vistas. The kitchen is equipped with every possible amenity making dining in easy and relaxing. The steam shower and sauna were my kid's favorite amenities. A return trip in the future would be wonderful!”

Fantastic Location

My husband and I had a good experience at this homestay, and it was just the two of us. On the positive side, the location was fantastic—nestled in the heart of nature off the highway, offering serene views and a peaceful ambiance. The home has two nature walks along the river on both ends of the street and is a quick drive to Gleenwood. It's also a great location for day trips to Vail or Aspen. The host was friendly and accommodating, making check-in and check-out a breeze. While the home was tidy, comfortable, and had all the necessary amenities, the excessive clutter detracted from its potential charm. The primary suite in the basement stairs is a little tricky, but we are short, so it wasn't too bad once we got the hang of them. Overall, a comfortable home in a great location with a wonderful host, and it has the potential to be a cozy retreat with fewer home decor items. ”

Everything you Need...

We stayed here with two other couples over the 4th of July. The home was one of the few in this program that looks like it's lived in. The kitchen was fully stocked with things like coffee, spices, condiments, etc. and the laundry was as well. It even had washer dryer on both floors! We really enjoyed the steam shower and didn't have a chance to try out the sauna. It's in a fairly quiet location although not far off the highway for quick access to anywhere you want to go. The host was excellent, answered all of our questions promptly and made some great suggestions for the area. There is a covered front porch which we loved, early morning sun and coffee and then shaded in the afternoon for cocktails. There is also a second deck and large outdoor table that seats six. We would definitely stay there if our travels take us back to that part of the State.”
