Description

Rose Cottage | Isle Of Wight

This beautiful cottage is set in the famous harbour town of Bembridge, on the Island of Wight, in the south of England, just in front of the French coasts, which offers local shops, pubs and lovely beaches all within a mile.

Bembridge is a surprisingly busy little harbour, one of the Isle of Wight’s best-kept secrets; its relative remoteness adds charm. It is, unsurprisingly, relatively up-market and a favourite ‘hideaway’ for celebrities, attracted by the relaxed atmosphere, excellent facilities and quality of the hospitality. It also attracts keen yachters from all over Europe who are lured by the perfect conditions, beautiful location and superb facilities. For outdoor lovers, there are lovely walking trails right from the door and easy access to the island’s famous coastal path, offering incredible coast and countryside views.

Upon entering this gorgeous holiday home, you’ll be greeted by the small hall area. Moving to your right, you will be in the cosy but stylish living room, offering ample comfortable seating and a Smart TV; this is the perfect place to curl up with a hot chocolate and watch a film after a long day exploring the island. A decor blend of modern and classical styles and wooden elements creates an elegant and fashionable atmosphere surrounding the property.

Across the hall is the country-style kitchen/diner, which is well-equipped and makes for the perfect social space to plan or debrief the day. A small downstairs WC and access to the garden via the back door are out the back of the kitchen.

Moving upstairs, you will find the first king-size bedroom to your left and the main family bathroom, offering stylish, bright decor. Across the hall, you’ve got a twin room, and the final room on this floor is the third king-size, which offers a lovely en-suite shower room.

The rooms are furnished and tastefully decorated, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay in a modern and minimalist style that fits perfectly with the luminosity and harmony of this property.

There’s access to the spacious, enclosed garden from the conservatory with furniture and a BBQ. This garden is a suntrap, making it the perfect place for al fresco dining.

Isle of Wight - small place, so much to do

We stayed at Rose Cottage at the end of a month long trip to the UK. May is a great time to visit the Isle of White - weather is warm, rain showers only sometimes and the island is not over crowded. Rose Cottage is in Bembridge, a nice locals village close to the ferry in Fishbourne. Its a couple of minutes to a beach that you can walk on for miles (be aware of tide times) and the seafood is so fresh you feel like you caught it yourself. There are enough hikes and day trips (royal houses, donkey sanctuaries, WW2 radar stations, monuments, sailing regattas) to make a month long stay seem too short. The house is a small cottage, comfortably furnished and well appointed. It has 3 bedrooms and is in a quiet residential neighbourhood, with the village and shops a short walk away. The owner Paul is informative and extremely helpful. He even sent us a map with places of interest highlighted in multiple colours! We would not hesitate to recommend this home to Thrid Home members.”

Loved Our Time At Rose Cottage

We had the best time at Rose Cottage in Bembridge! The place was very clean and had a great kitchen for making dinner and breakfast. There is a market that is just down the street from the cottage, making it very easy to go grab something quickly for dinner. It was walkable to the Lobster and Crab Inn, which was a nice dinner location as well! ”
