Description

Wild Atlantic Way Beach House

Welcome to Bunker Lodge, a captivating property comprising two interconnected buildings adorned with unique and refined characteristics. The focal point is the enchanting L-shaped sunroom, boasting panoramic glazing on both sides that invites breathtaking views and infuses the entire house with luminosity. The first-floor living room is equally remarkable, with windows adorning three sides and double doors opening to a balcony that offers a magnificent vantage point to admire the Atlantic Ocean.

With its light-filled ambiance, Bunker Lodge exudes an airy and inviting atmosphere throughout. It features three bedrooms, including one with a king-size bed and two others furnished with queen and twin beds, ensuring comfortable accommodations for all guests. However, the true highlight lies in the priceless vista of the sea, which graces the property with an awe-inspiring backdrop.

Situated just minutes away from both the white strand beach and Doughmore beach, Bunker Lodge offers easy access to pristine sandy shores and refreshing ocean breezes. For a taste of local charm, take a leisurely stroll of approximately 20 minutes to the town of Doonbeg, where you'll find charming pubs and shops. Indulging in a delightful dining experience at Morrisey's comes highly recommended. For those seeking a livelier nightlife scene, a short drive to Kilkee will provide ample options.

What a Great Stay!

We had a fantastic stay at Patrick’s (the owner)beautiful home. Patrick was amazing with his suggestions regarding what to see and where to eat. We have had many Third Home stays, but we have never had a host as accommodating as Patrick. The Kilkee Cliffs were amazing as were the Cliffs of Moher. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.”

Good house in all weathers!

The house is lovely, clean and well appointed. It’s also offered as AirBnB so gets a lot of use. Our host assures us a few niggles will be seen to this summer when he is there. In bad weather (which we had some of the time) the living room is good for nestling into, while the annex games room with huge TV screen is great for movies (and probably games). Co Clare has wild cliffs and coastline - we particularly enjoyed the cliffs of Kilkee and Loop Head. We also enjoyed visiting the lighthouse there. The famous Cliffs of Moher are impressive but very over-run with tourists - if you enjoy walking it’s probably best to park at the southern end and walk up rather than going to the visitor centre complex in the centre. If you are travelling around Ireland, we’d also very much recommend going down to Co Kerry and the Ring of Kerry - gorgeous lakes, hills and beaches. We stayed a couple of nights at the Ard na Sidhe Country House Hotel, which is beautiful and full of Edwardian style.”
