November 2024Heart of the Historic Loop
Looking out at the tops of historic skyscrapers from inside an historic building blew me away in the Windy City!! Owner is easy to reach and responds to unanticipated situations. He is wonderful. There are not enough stars in the sky to rate this property as it deserves. I would definitely stay there again because everything is exactly as described.”

July 2024A Hidden Treat
First of all, Dan Shannon, our host, went above and beyond. Prior to our arrival, he sent us a very thorough Guest Book explaining the logistics of the building, access to the apartment, rules and regulations, places to go, restaurants, all the important things. He met us upon our arrival, showed us around, helped us with our luggage, etc. During our stay he checked in daily, just to make sure all was well. Bottom line, he was great. Now for the apartment. It's located on the top floor of an office building nicknamed the Mental-Dental building because there are 40 therapists and 20 dentists who office there. It used to be the annex for Marshall Field & Co., one of the great department stores of the 40's-70's (I guess). The irony is that my father's first job was in that building and I didn't realize it until we arrived. The apartment is comfortable, clean, roomy and just delightful. It's also conveniently located and an easy walk to many of the city's attractions. I highly recommend Dan and this great place to stay. We won't hesitate to come back.”
