Description

Friday Harbor Waterfront Cabin

Nestled along a private dead-end dirt road this cozy waterfront cabin stands as a serene retreat on the Washington coast. Positioned directly across from the historic British Camp National Park, this charming cottage offers a peaceful escape with breathtaking marine views visible from every window and captivating sunrises that paint the sky.

The master bedroom, adorned with a queen bed, provides a comfortable haven, and a full bath adjacent to the bedroom door adds convenience. While the property lacks dock access, it compensates with a small private beach, ideal for launching kayaks and paddle boards. Guests are encouraged to bring their watercraft to fully embrace the waterfront experience.

Although the on-site dock is not available for guest use, adventure awaits across the bay at English Camp, where miles of trails wind through the landscape, offering hikers an opportunity to revel in the stunning vistas atop Young Hill.

Designed for those seeking a romantic getaway or a break from the bustling pace of everyday life, this rental exudes simplicity, cleanliness, and coziness, making it difficult for guests to depart. A flat-screen Smart-Television is provided, allowing visitors to log in to their preferred streaming services for entertainment.

For culinary enthusiasts, the outdoor propane barbecue beckons, providing an ideal setup for cooking clams, crab, and oysters. Just a short distance away, Westcott Bay offers an oyster farm where guests can procure fresh oysters shipped worldwide.

While the allure of a crackling fire pit may tempt guests, it's important to note that fire pits are unavailable from May 1st to September 30th, adhering to county burn bans and ensuring the safety of the property and its surroundings. However, come October 1st, guests may have the opportunity to enjoy the warmth of a fire, provided that weather conditions and safety concerns are met. Please note that firewood is not provided.

Situated along the shoreline in Friday Harbor, this cabin offers a picturesque beachfront setting. Delve into the rich cultural offerings of the region with visits to the San Juan Islands Sculpture Park and the San Juan Historical Society and Museum. For those seeking outdoor adventures, explore the activities at Roche Harbor Marina and Pelindaba Lavender Farm. Don't miss the opportunity to discover the fascinating exhibits at the Whale Museum or unwind in the natural beauty of Jones Island State Park. Take advantage of the surrounding environment and engage in activities like birdwatching as you immerse yourself in the diverse offerings of this charming locale.

This waterfront haven promises a tranquil and memorable stay, inviting guests to unwind and create lasting memories by the ocean.

Roche Harbor hideaway

This place on San Juan Island is perfect for a relaxing time in the Pacific Northwest. Our time here followed days hiking in Olympic National Park and visits to other towns on Whidbey Island and Port Townsend. And once we arrived and met the owners next door--Cindy and Ed--we felt right at home. The ferry system, once you get the hang of it, opened up day trips to Orcas Island and Lopez Island and to Anacortes. The area is filled with historical places to learn about--including American Camp (on the southern side of San Juan Island) and British Camp, which is just across the water from the cabin and enjoyed from the comfy chairs out on the brick patio. The cabin is actually in Roche Harbor about 8 miles from the ferry terminal and town of Friday Harbor, so a car is definitely needed. Roche Harbor Resort is worth the 10 minute trip to have lunch at the restaurant on the patio. And what a drive through the green rolling landscape with an alpaca farm along the way in and around the most glorious trees. We highly recommend this location.”
