Villa San Marco

3-9 Keys 5 Bedrooms 10 Guests 6 BathsView Amenities

Description

San Marco's drive winds through its olive grove, passes its wrought iron gates and up its avenue of pencil pines before arriving at this classic Italian villa, where our wonderful 'housekeeper' will greet you.

Completely refurbished and with a wonderful poolhouse, the tranquil Villa San Marco is set in its park-like grounds of 4-acres, surrounded by fields, yet it has stunning views down the valley to Lake Trasimeno and also up the hill to the Etruscan city of Cortona, which alone would take many weeks to explore.

The villa is spacious, bright, beautifully decorated, elegantly furnished with many antiques and it has a warm family atmosphere.

The refurbishments created 7 new full-bathrooms (5 ensuite + 1 extra and 1 in the pool house), 2 fabulous 'cooks' kitchens (one indoors and one by the pool), a breakfast room with doors opening directly into the ivy-clad pergola, total redecoration and huge 'behind the scenes' improvements, including very high specification solar and airforce hot water, heating and electricity systems. There is aircon in the bedrooms and the study and there is detailed guidance on how to keep the rest of the villa cool. The windows don't have screens, though there are industrial machines that virtually eliminate the insect problem.

This villa is the perfect spot for a memorable holiday in this unforgettable part of Italy.

Tuscan delight

This was our second stay at Villa San Marco. Since our first stay the owner (Andrew) has added new bathrooms so that all 5 bedrooms have an ensuite. We love the house, especially the outdoor pool cabana where we spent most of our time. Highly recommended!”

Villa San Marco - sensational!

A fantastic location to explore the best parts of Tuscany. The pool house was certainly the highlight and we spent many houses relaxing in this part of the extensive property. We had daily cleaning service and the concierge Cornelia was also a great source of information on local attractions. The owner (Andrew) was also incredibly helpful with a change of dates. Overall, very highly recommended. ”
