Peaceful and comfortable place

Villa Quinta das Salinas is a property with very high standards of comfort, modern and detailed interiors, all the appliances and outdoor furniture that a large group can need. We specially loved the outdoor barbecue “Big Green Egg” and can’t wait to order one for our villa and home as well. The heated pool made our family morning and afternoon swims a delight and despite the reports of bad weather in the country during the time we staid, we used the swimming pool and caught great openings of sun every day. The slight let down is the distance to supermarkets or convenience stores, bakeries or pasteries, you have to use the car. Despite also being so close to Quinta do Lago Lake and it’s restaurants and bar by the lake, there is no easy or direct connection unless the dusty trails, that you also need to use to reach the exclusive and lovely Ancão beach. The setting is nevertheless ideal for all those that love outside walks along nature reserves and I do advise bikes if you like to use them. ”

Not to be repeated!

A beautiful house, beautiful decor, well presented, great pool. We were so happy on arrival that we immediately discussed booking the house for 3 weeks next year if available. Unfortunately we were informed that the house was not being offered through 3rd Home next year. We were surprised that we did not have access to the safe and even though reported this was not attended to until we were in the house for 10 days. This was one of three items which would become major irritants as they were not addressed by the owner in a timely fashion. The other was that there was no hot water in the kitchen making self catering an issue. The 24/7 contact informed us that she was on a day off and someone would contact us the following day. The 24/7 referred to did not cover Saturday or Sunday? Between several calls made by us about this item and a fridge which kept turning off we were left without these items being resolved during our 2 week stay. When staff called to try and fix these items they left the alarm turned off when leaving on two occasions. Really annoyed us as we were gone for the day and no safe facilities as previously mentioned. To add insult to injury staff on the ground we felt knew of the fridge issue as they knew no manual for the fridge was availailable, yet WE were able to find one online after an extensive search. We sent it on to the owner who did not acknowledge it! The housekeeper was appreciative though. Owner was aware we felt of kitchen hot water problem and spoke of recent work and a circulation pump. We would not have taken this house if we were made aware of the hot water issue. It most definitely did not represent value for our keys or our booking charge. We are most disappointed . We do not wish any part of this review to be used to promote this property.”
