Diablo CA guest house

My husband and I were very impressed with the guest house and the amenities such as snacks, cooking utensils, basic staples and complementary wines. We are very meticulous people and appreciate cleanliness and quiet. We carefully followed instructions that the owner had given us regarding putting garbage out on Thursday morning for the gardener, upon leaving put soiled towels on the bathroom floor, turn off all lights inside and out. The owner of the property was on vacation so we left her a thank you note and complimented her office manager who called in help to repair the wi-fi connection which did not work properly for five days. Much to our dismay the owner sent us a note accusing us of scratching her dining table, leaving soiled bed sheets, and paper towels on the kitchen floor. In addition a sarcastic note that she is used to having people leave her place tidier than we did. We spent a lot of time washing glassware and cooking pans by hand before putting them back in the cupboards. The dishwasher was turned on for all other items. We left 2 garbage bags on the floor of the kitchen (recycle / wet garbage) as no trash cans were available. The property’s cleaning lady was critical of our vacating cleanup, even though we followed the owner’s checklist. We think now that she anticipated we would leave her a nice tip! We will not be returning to the guest house, but just want other renters to know what happened to us. ”

Amazing guest house!

Outstanding property, great host, wonderful location!

We loved our stay at the Mt. Diablo Cottage. The Cottage or Guest House is part of a larger property on the edge of Mt. Diablo State Park, near Danville, CA. The host, Julie, is a fantastic host and even provided a small gift basket of snacks upon our arrival. If you enjoy hiking, they literally have trail access to Mt Diablo within a few hundred yards of the property. ”
