Description

Tall Pines Waterfront Highland Lodge.

Tall Pines Lodge offers an exceptional Highland retreat, accommodating up to 14 guests across 5 spacious double bedrooms, including 3 en-suite rooms, and 2 sharing a large bathroom. Additionally, 4 bespoke built-in bunk beds provide extra sleeping arrangements. The lodge features a stunning open-plan kitchen and dining area with seating for 14, complemented by spectacular atrium-style living spaces.

The property is fully equipped with modern amenities, including a boot room, sauna, steam room, gym, and a large laundry room with 2 dryers and 2 washing machines. Multiple snug areas and a well-appointed games room enhance the comfort and entertainment options. Outdoors, guests can enjoy a large, log-fired hot tub, ample seating for more than 14 people, a fire pit on a private beach, and various seating areas scattered throughout the 2.5-acre private grounds. A small deer larder, food-smoking shed, and external log stores add to the property's charm.

The extensive grounds boast over 200 meters of shoreline on Loch Lochy. Built in a modern hunting lodge style, Tall Pines Lodge features oak floors and underfloor heating throughout, both upstairs and downstairs. The property also includes four log-burning stoves, with seasoned hardwood provided to maintain a cosy atmosphere.

The lodge’s location is rich in history, set in an ancient Caledonian pine forest, adjacent to the Caledonian Canal and to the north of Gairlochy, a region historically associated with Clan Cameron and a WWII training ground for British Commandos. Guests will be treated to magnificent near-field views of Loch Lochy, the canal entrance, a picturesque pepper pot lighthouse, and the private beach. The far-field views span the Grey Corries, Aonach Mòr, and the North Face of Ben Nevis.

Loch Lochy is ideal for wild swimming, water sports, and fishing for salmon, pike, and perch. Salmon fishing is also available on the River Lochy, just a 10-minute walk from the lodge. Outdoor enthusiasts can also enjoy field sports in the surrounding area, skiing at Nevis Range, climbing, and walking in the iconic Scottish Highlands. The region is home to the Mountain Bike World Cup championships held every year in late August/September.

Fort William is just a 20-minute drive away, with Inverness reachable in 1 hour and Glasgow or Edinburgh within 2.5 hours. Tall Pines Lodge is a luxurious and perfectly located base for exploring the natural beauty, history, and adventure of the Highlands.
